Not to be lost in this, I wonder if Bratt gets moved to PP2. Keep Meier in that spot with Jack at the other dot. I feel Palat or Mercer is better suited for a spot in the middle than Bratt would be.

He 100% should be, I wouldn't put Palat there either FWIW, it should be Mercer. PP2 half boards should be Yegor and Bratt. Gives you the one time option plus a guy with a lethal shot as well.

Anyone that watched the last two games and thinks it was just a hot goalie doesn't know what they were watching.

Tampa effectively took away the Devils speed and transition....they basically controlled the play the entire time except for the the first 15 minutes of the first game.
I'll give you the majority of the first game. Second game was relatively even. Devils could have earned a win tonight. They didn't, but they battled.

I was fully prepared for them to just put on a lockdown clinic in the third after they had the lead going into it.
They tried but they couldn’t lock us down. That’s the point. We gain confidence from that and from knowing what we have to do and can do to be better. I know anyway that I have more confidence in our team being playoff competitive after tonight than at any point in this season.

Tonight wasn't even at all. Tampa generated pretty much nada 5v5 after the 1st while we had multiple grade A chances. Not even close to even.
and they got the bounces in both games. We really couldn’t buy a break. That first goal tonight 90 seconds in was a huge kick in the balls for us. And the Stamkos power play goal with 5 minutes left. We stayed focused and calm and tied it up repeatedly. We have a very very good team here and what we are doing this season is no fluke.

It was 3-2 Tampa with about 2 minutes left.... clearly Tampa did something right overall. I said relatively even. To say its not even close isn't fair. Powerplays are part of the game.

Statistics lie. The Devils couldn't get anything going in both games. Tampa was able to slow down the Devils and it looked like a struggle just to cross their blue... while Tampa didn't do much with their possessions, they held the puck for long periods of time...5 of the 6 regulation periods went that way.

New Jersey had no solution for Tampa's game plan.
meh. lazy analysis. Tampa are very good and expirienced team to use their chances and don`t give a chance to create, but today Devils created enough. With this kind of game Devils will compete against Tampa in play off series. May be won, may be lose, Tampa is tampa, they won 2 SC not because their oppontnents were weak. But today Devils looked much better than ANY game Tampa faced against mtl in their final or even against Dallas. NYR were not better than TODAY Devils in their playoff meeting. May be in their first won.
If you are asking for more, it is necessary to consult a nutritionist.

And it’s just the beginning. The boys will keep growing and some young top prospects are coming soon.

I’m giddy.

Powerplay lost us the game but also got us a point.

Got to be better against Tampa pk. They been struggling on the pk recently as well I believe

It might piss Bratt off but I would put timo in his spot. His shot is being wasted in the bumper spot especially when this pp hardly uses the bumper

Devils played a great game IMO.

Yes, special teams blowed, it is what it is.

But once again, we out skated Tampa.

Shame on sone posters on here saying absolute ASININE things like that the team is a joke. Gtfo.

Bratt has been the Bratt of two years ago for like a month now. I’m not even mad about the production dropping, it’s the shit play everywhere else that’s not cool.

This is why he’s a polarizing player.

Bratt ... 8 points, -10 in his last 17 games.

I'm super glass half full with our guys, but if Bratt wants the big bucks and keeps holding out, it's time for him to start rolling here. We need him until Jack gets back to the Jack we know and more.

I’ll settle for happy to mull it over during the watches of the night. I thought there was more pressure on us tonight than at any prior time this season. And more with four and a half minutes left than at any time tonight. I really can’t believe we were able to get it tied up again.
