He said that to Arvidsson too, a guy who has been working his ass off to get back to the league after two surgeries, only to then get injured again and possibly not return at all this year.

It was truly embarassing for him that it got caught on mic.
Eh **** that idiot, I don't care what he did to get back in the league it was a bush league move and he deserved to get called out on it. It's on Jack that he's been a giant turd since then.

If anything this feels like the Ruff/Green version of what Hynes would do when the goalies were bad and we didn't get saves. I don't think we've even averaged 2.5 goals per game since the Carolina OT loss, which I think is when it supposedly started.

And we still give up a bunch of goals. I'd honestly rather go back to the 5-4 or 6-5 wins, which only happen with Vitek lol.
2.75 gf/gp in feb 22nd in the league just an avg to below avg team now

I’m gonna get flamed for saying this but I miss Lou. Team was old when he left and he doesn’t know what a rebuild is but he knew goalies and how to create structure. With how young we are now I know he would be able to get things on track here.

The goalies are literally the worst in the league. We have one of the top 3 worst save percentages in the league down near shit teams like Chicago. Yes, the goalies are a big issue for a team that averages 3.30+ goals a game.
Why do you think that is?
Why do you think that when we lose our top four defenseman year to year, our best, defensive forward, And when we replace them with rookies, every goalie that plays is bad?

Why have the last nine goalies we played been the worst in the league?

Could you draw a correlation maybe?

I honestly think Jack's hot mic comments are none of our business. I'd rather you say whether you're a red or blue doritos guy.

Jack is probably my favorite athlete right now, which makes him being this bad such a blow. Especially when it comes with the season on the line. Injuries don’t excuse that defensive effort either.
Chip on the shoulder vibes coming next year.

I’m excited for the exit interviews.

I was thinking about this recently, but I miss guys like Tatar and Wood. Tatar was excellent for us in the regular season last year and had great chemistry with Nico. He was solid defensively as well. He was an upgrade to this year's Timo. While Wood wasn't a particularly good player, he played with energy and fire, and he was the guy who Kickstarted the Devils long winning streak with his locker room speech.

Perhaps some areas not talked about as much, compared to Sevo and Graves.
I don’t miss Wood or Severson

But Tatar and Graves I certainly miss. I don’t think we could have resigned Graves based off his Pens contract but losing Tatar for nothing was bone headed.

But I’m done with Fitzgerald, I don’t even think of his small mistakes like losing Tatar. Losing Sharangovich for basically nothing long term was idiotic. The goaltending, not firing ruff, the Meier trade, etc. horrid GM, he literally did everything you should not do with a star studded youthful team.

We turned from a potential Chicago Blackhawks lite dynasty potential to the potential of the New York Rangers. Pure losers.

Remember when we chanted 1994 at Rags fans? Soon they’ll be chanting 2003.

We were 11th in goals in the league before today. I wonder what we are since the Carolina game? We had the outburst over Philly at the stadium and 4 goals against Nashville and Montreal.

We’ve had lots of 1-2 goal games also. More 1 goal than 2 goals.

0 against Carolina, 1 against LA, 1 against the Rangers. 2 against the Capitals. 1 today. That’s just going off memory.

I despise Lou but the one thing I'll give that old bastard credit for is he wouldn't have allowed Lindy to coach after the Rags game and probably would've pulled the plug way back in December after probably the disgusting Anaheim loss.

You think the Devs are otherwise a great team, yes? Ok, name me all the otherwise great teams that were serious contenders that SHOCKINGLY weren't even a competitive playoff team due solely to their goalies.

Christ. Reality is the opposite. The modern NHL is littered with great teams contending with journeyman or average goalies, castaways, and no name new guys. It's been obvious it isn't just goaltending. To see people still making that argument is insane.

I definitely think no chance Lindy is back next year. I’m not sure we even finish with 85 points right now.

I just hope it isn’t for Green. Not this year or next.

Now I’m also starting to think for the first time that Lindy may be fired before the season ends. Poor guy will have to hear it again if we come back and get nailed by the Panthers. Especially if we got our shit handed to us (again) by the likes of San Jose and Anaheim on the road trip.

I think the idea that they can't play D and score is BS. They played good D for like 5 games and yes the scoring went down a bit but it wasn't drastic. The D and breakout looks to have reverted back to shit form after the genius sent Hattaka packing, and now the offense is garbage too. I don't think this team collectively is buying what Lindy is selling.

Jack's injury has nothing to do with the PP being predictable and not having movement and it being able to pull the other team's PK out of the middle of the ice. The constant up to the D back to the wingers does nothing for movement. It's a constant. It's pitch and catch with jack luke and bratt. rarely any cross ice passes through the middle because they cant open the lanes up since they have no movement.
They made clean zone entries earlier that they aren’t doing now. Jack Hughes.

They opened lanes earlier when Jack took the puck high left and drove towards the net and they had to respect his shot and shift position to cut him off. Jack Hughes.

Look at his and our numbers on the power play earlier before he got injured. I can’t see how there’s any question but that Hughes going down was the moment when our power play went south.

Lack of movement is indeed an issue now, with him not being able to generate it on his own. What I also see happening is us not being able to handle being heavily pressured or having a clear idea of how we intend to compensate for his injury.

In some ways his being half back but not being able to do his thing is the worst scenario. We can’t win with him and we can’t win without him.
