Some of you have had your brains broken by the goalies this year to the point you think it's an ask to get just one shutout, like 30 other teams in the league haven't done it.

TNT guys are pretty positive on our team, but they just won't acknowledge the elephants in the room when it comes to the goalie. Like the goalie coach. I doubt they even know what his name is. I don't think anybody outside of St. Louis heard of him before 2020 other than Marty, who was in St. Louis.

And nobody is giving the Fire Lindy chant any reaction.

It didn't happen. It's like the mafia. It doesn't exist.

i was a teamster years ago.....so no comment

I don’t think he fires ruff. If he does and the team does have a bounce and barely misses playoffs then he will get in more trouble then not doing something
I think he would fire him if he thought it would probably make a difference. But giving Fitz credit for being a sound hockey GM, why fire Ruff if he isn’t confident it will fix things?

Fan PR would be a reason. I suppose. But it’s hard to see how Ruff goes from being a candidate for coach of the year to a bum in a few months, the sentiments of this board notwithstanding.

So every loss this season where the Devils score only 1 is going to be a goalies problem from this point on?

This has to be a bit because nobody could seriously use that as a defense to saying Schmid was an issue today.

I miss Vatanen's ability to block pucks out of the net. Random memory.

Watching our D men reach like losers and get out muscled to the puck. Vatanen used to throw his body all around and block the net at all costs.

Now it's the "Jack Hughes isn't playing at 100%" excuse. Ignoring the chicken or egg aspect of this argument, do people really think our roster is so flawed that it automatically becomes a basement dweller just because our top player is in a slump?

The Philadelphia Flyers are sitting in third place in the division well ahead of us. A wildcard should be the absolute floor for this roster even in a year when things are not going well.

This is a coaching issue. and given the behavior of the GM, a leadership issue at large. 100%

Maybe next time management will listen to their captain instead of their superstar when it's in regards to the coaching staff.
I feel bad for him with these chants. I personally wouldn't participate. Not this year, maybe if he was back next year. I would chant FIRE GREENY though.

He should have been fired after 21-22.

But because he wasn't fired after 21-22, which most of us were f***in SHOCKED beyond belief that he wasn't, he got to come back for last year. Last year happened and he wound up not only coming back another year after 21-22, he got at least 3 more years worth of contracts AFTER that with the option year this year, and the multi-year that starts next year and the at least one more year (maybe it's just an option year, nobody knows) after that.

And he got to endure chants calling for his firing TWO years in a row for all of his troubles. Nobody was even noticeably chanting for his firing at the time he probably should have went.

The first real audible Fire Hynes chant (and it wasn't as loud as any of these) didn't even come until Hynes last home game, 4+ years after he took over.

I was thinking about this recently, but I miss guys like Tatar and Wood. Tatar was excellent for us in the regular season last year and had great chemistry with Nico. He was solid defensively as well. He was an upgrade to this year's Timo. While Wood wasn't a particularly good player, he played with energy and fire, and he was the guy who Kickstarted the Devils long winning streak with his locker room speech.

Perhaps some areas not talked about as much, compared to Sevo and Graves.
For me it's bc the D had been so bad...
But I did notice that Meier and Woods's stats were identical a couple of games back and although Timo has a better hockey IQ, head no brain surgeon either with his positioning or decisions. Rango, Tatar, zetterlund and wood were all good soldiers, had good engines and character. I can't really say the same for anyone but Lazar on this year's team.

I spent a good portion of the season thinking out best player during games was McLeod, the rapist.. So that's also a subtraction.

It's been fairly obvious for long time, to me anyway it has been...

As Jack goes, so does the rest of the team.

There’s something pretty funny about saying “people pay to watch me play” and then popping your pants every time you step on the ice after.
He said that to Arvidsson too, a guy who has been working his ass off to get back to the league after two surgeries, only to then get injured again and possibly not return at all this year.

It was truly embarassing for him that it got caught on mic.

Speed speed speed, you’d rather have Nosek and Tierney than a Boqvist and McLeod. Wood , McLeod, Bastian were one of the best fourth lines last year. Throw in Shara and Z too. One of weirdest non resigning was Tatar, again more speed, and great in the corners and along the wall, the dude was amazing for us last year. All gone now.
Tatar wanted a lot of money. Once he saw he couldn’t get what he wanted and came back to Fitz, other moves were already made. This was reported in the summer. I would’ve liked to have him back on the low, but he had other plans.

Someone keep me up to date on ruff comments, im on train
Maybe Ryan but someone asked if he heard the fire Lindy chants. Also if he thinks he's responsible for where the team is and if he thinks his job is on the line. VERY spicy for a Devils presser.

He said he takes full responsibility, he's responsible for the wins and losses, who gets on the ice, etc, and feels fully responsible. He said that we have a very passionate fanbase that wants to see wins and that our home record is not great. Said doesn't think about if his job is on the line and that It's a job where job security is what it is.

More like you've had your brain broken where EVERYthing is the goalie's fault, even a game where they score one against another scrub
The goalies are literally the worst in the league. We have one of the top 3 worst save percentages in the league down near shit teams like Chicago. Yes, the goalies are a big issue for a team that averages 3.30+ goals a game.

Even if Schmid stopped the third goal that Bizz didn't like, this would have been a 2-1 or 3-1 empty net loss.

We would have lost 2-1 instead.

And we weren't doing shit when it was 2-1. How many shots did we have and how many power plays did we have while the game was a 2-1 score? We didn't have shit today.
