Maybe a Virtanen jersey.virtanen
I was totally joking. Not even thinking if the video. This video really doesn't show much. Was it at the end of a shift? Because if so it's entirely reasonable to understand why he was caught.
The NHL or NHL-ish player from the farthest down south is definitely the Australian Nathan Walker. Northernmost, I'm looking at a map and I can see a few ex-NHLers were born in the city of Murmansk, Russia. Get one of them to coach him.According to Freidman, Rangers looking for a North-South player for Lias.
Who fits the bill?
Part of this is Lias never getting a real shot in the NHL. He earned 2nd and 3rd line minutes over Strome and Howden in camp.
part of this is Lias not doing anything in the NHL or AHL with the minutes he was given.
regardless, I’m shocked by this. I didn’t think he was that kind of guy
In camp and preseason though, Lias clearly looked better. He never got to be stapled to Panarin the way Strome did.Mehhhhhhh I'm not the biggest Strome fan but Andersson was probably never going to "win" a spot over him. Strome is a legit NHLer who produces points one way or another
In camp and preseason though, Lias clearly looked better. He never got to be stapled to Panarin the way Strome did.
I think Ho-Sang went through waivers. I’d think he’s on a lower value level at the moment. I do find Ho-Sang to be very intriguing though. Rangers should get Ho-Sang and Puljujarvi and any other reclamation project out there. For cheap.Wonder if Gorton and Lamorello could break the general not trading to rivals thing and deal Anderson for Hosang
I could see Gorton, with all the Rangers prospect capital, “overpaying” to get “their guy”. Makes sense. Gorton seems to be pretty happy to pay whatever it takes to get the guys he sees as proper fits. So, no Puljujarvi for Andersson as per Friedman.
Going to be interesting if they are going to try and net another pick or if this will be a propect for prospect trade. If there is another Lemiuex type out there, they should be the target. Even if they are older. They mentioned wanting a more north-south type player in return.
We talked a lot about Josh Anderson. I wonder if he'll be available and Andersson could be part of a package to get him. He is hurt, but he would provide some of that size and physicality that they are looking for. JD knows the team well and would know if Columbus had Lias on their radar when they drafted in 2017.
Let's not even mention that Columbus has a HUGE need in nets. Korpisalo and Merzlikins do not seem like answers. Shesty is gonna come up soon. Georgiev+Andersson to Columbus for Josh Anderson+? Would hate to have Geo in division, but while there is no rush, there is an opportunity to get a 25 year old winger that has pedigree of scoring (been roughly a 20 goal guy since making the NHL full time) and an add, maybe a draft pick or another prospect, in return.
I’m not sure if “a” that’s the Ranger style, “b” it’s appropriate, or “c” even feasible these days. Its more of a players’ world than ever before. For better and for worse. Just my opinion, anyhow.Make an example out of him. Sit his ass until the summer. Move him at the draft. Don’t need Kravtsov and Igor following suit.
Hamlet Quotes - Something is rotten in the state of Denmark with explanationPlease elaborate on the Denmark part
Why is that more likely?
And does anyone have actual clarification on if LA being away from the team means he walked out on hfd OR if he asked for a trade and the organization told him to stay away from the team bc they didn't want a player that's checked out on the org to be cancerous to the ahl team, especially with kratsov back there now?
Strome became stapled to Panarin because the pairing worked. Neither Anderson nor Howden were able to accomplish that. If you'd asked me early in the year, I would have bet the ranch that Strome was on his way out. Now look.In camp and preseason though, Lias clearly looked better. He never got to be stapled to Panarin the way Strome did.
As I've stated before, it looks like and is as effective as every other "scheme" they had since the lockout (not counting the Torts years).I think DQ's problem is far far far more the coaching of his defense and their scheme than the offense and playing north/south vs east/west
I dunno if it's all blame it on Ruff or how much input Quinn has but the defensive approach is just terrible. It's a passive system that also seems to confuse the players and multiple times per game you see players confused about who is supposed to be covering who and the gap control in general is atrocious. There are some issues with how well forwards cover for pinching D and how aware pinching D are with putting their teammates in trouble, but a huge issue is just the system they try to play defensively and it's killing them almost every game
This indicates that it was a mutual decision. IF LA had walked out, he would be subject to suspensions, fines, etc. and I doubt the Rangers would be so active with the phones so early.Nope, none out there. Just one line saying he's no longer with the team.
Smith produced more than Lias on the 4th line. As a washed up d-manBrett Howden's still in the NHL.
We can debate Lias' play at a lot of points and he certainly needed to be better. But not once was he given a legitimate chance. Brendan Smith made it off line 4 this season and he couldn't. Brendan Smith!
Yea totally Quinn when he’s produced 5 points in 13 AHL games. Yupp. And got outplayed by Smith and Haley on the 4th line. He should have been in Hartford since the beginning. And yes, Howden too. Thanks Quinn. You ****.
