Andersson played over 60 games for the Pack before this season. I think he was aware of what the AHL was like...

And then once he graduated he didn't want to go back. It's not a linear line of development for players. This isn't the SHL where once you make it to the big leagues you're there to stay. Lots of high draft picks shuttle back and forth between the NHL and AHL. Which is something he seems to not be OK with.

The only reason Kravtsov is even back in NA is because he was demoted in Russia. If he had maintained his roster spot in the KHL he would not have returned when he did.

I just feel that in his two prior seasons down there Andersson would have realised this, even if he wasn't expecting it when he first came over. Unless he does actually have a very low IQ, I'm pretty sure he was aware of how the NHL/AHL shuffle works, especially for prospects.

I think walking away from the team and refusing to play in the AHL is a good sign this isn't the case.

He is not siting in a cheap motel outside Hartford and drinking Jack all day. People think the timing is bad because of the rooster freeze, but I'm sure this is a young man very frustrated and a bit depressed about his life right now taking a christmas vacation back to his family. To me it looks very similar like a university student doing bad on his exams just going back to mom for some comfort and nice food and enjoy life a little again before returning to uni. I'm pretty sure we will either see him back in Hartford or traded during the first 2 weeks in January.

Uh, what are you basing this on? All reports are that he demanded a trade and left without telling the team. Thus, this is far more than just going home to see his parents. Holy hell, the level of excuses made for this clown is reaching the absurd.

Probably a bit closer to unregistering for all your courses and saying you're never going back to that university again.

People think the timing is bad because he left without permission.

The team couldn't get another team to accept a trade for him because his actual value and his own idea of his value are incredibly out of line.

A university student going home on break doesn't just stop coming to class and move home for an indeterminate amount of time. Lias left the team. He didn't go home over a break.

If I'm taking a vacation I have to clear it with my employer. Pretty sure everyone posting on these boards has to have the common courtesy to do that.

I don't know about you but I can't get away with "f*** you I'm outta here and find me another job mother f***er".

Well, yeah, but I don’t think these kids always fully understand that. They’ve never had a job, they’ve never had to take leave or request days off. And they’re not even college graduate age. I’m not excusing it, I just see the comparison that was being made.

Is there actually a good time?

I take it there's still no word from either camp about why the split happened or if there's any plans for the future?
