I also think be bends over too much. Wild coaches should improve his skating.I didn't think he looked fast. Average'ish speed. Bends low when he skates so he appears smaller than he actually is. Didn't stick out, for me.

No, nor anything bad. Stenberg, OTOH, has a HT, and Edstrom looks vg. Both were available when we picked Stramel. Wahlberg looks decent, too. Lekkeremaki has looked dangerous once or twice, but he, Ostlund, and Ohgren are pretty quiet so far.Anything good to report?
He looks a lot better with the puck on his stick than Larsson did in his Jrs games.Based off of what people are writing here, seems like a clone of Johan Larsson.
Don’t play with my emotions! I’d love to have another Nino or two.Writing that and picturing him in my mind, I actually see some Nino comparisons.
IMO - I'm seeing some really good straight-forward top speed - and add that to his pretty impressive size (he looks to be 195-200lbs) and I see a pretty scary train when he goes into the forecheck and driving towards the net.I’m not seeing that skating that some are talking about. Looks pretty average.
Very involved, was in on 3 extreme high danger chances in the first two periods, you will see him in the highlight reel for a Rousseau save that had Henrik Lundqvist in awe in the stands. Also had a nice give and go play where he just failed a backhand pass to hit a guy alone in the slot.Anyone with the lowdown?
Missed the beginning.
came here to say the same thing. The skating is eerily similar.I see Marcus Johansson, which isn't a bad outcome.
I think it's best to wait and see how this season plays out. He started late, and is just getting back into things. If he is healthy and productive for the rest of the year and wants to come over to NA, then it would be hard to say no. He may, or may not get some NHL TOI. A lot depends on how Yurov, Marat, Bankier, and the like are playing, and where they are playing(i.e. KHL, AHL, NHL).I think he should play another year in the SHL and develop his skating on the bigger ice. He didn't have the summer training that is needed to properly develop this year due to the back injury.
Gives him time to practice, the lighter schedule of the SHL and lesser grind could benefit him more than the endless bus rides of the AHL.
Also his scoring is going to be better when his core strength and confidence grows.
I'm there with you - I see more physicality in Ohgren. He's not an enforcer but he has a better knack of how to use his 200lbs to drive hard towards the net with a power move using his body and getting low(I like that he gets low ) as well as more tenacity to engage in board battles. And he likes to shoot.I see more grit and the capability to cycle/go to the net out of him than a MoJo, not sure he has the ability to skate through the neutral zone (at least yet) and gain entries (I feel like that has been the only consistent thing MoJo has offered this year). In short, I think that if he doesn't develop offense, he can still be valuable on a checking line, whereas I don't view MoJo as having a lot of value in the defensive zone or giving the coach the opportunity to play PK.
Just my opinion, of course.
Found it.Very involved, was in on 3 extreme high danger chances in the first two periods, you will see him in the highlight reel for a Rousseau save that had Henrik Lundqvist in awe in the stands. Also had a nice give and go play where he just failed a backhand pass to hit a guy alone in the slot.
skating and strength still look good against the Canadian competition, just good steady play that has been positive each shift.
I'm hoping he can have MarJo's skating, and with better leg extension and maturity there's a chance. Pretty high bar, though. I think Ohgren is more physical, but we'll have to see if he turns into a paper tiger when playing at higher levels. I have zero memory of MarJo when he was young, so i don't know what he was like.came here to say the same thing. The skating is eerily similar.
I’m no Bill Guerin, but I also like that he is a captain.
I think he'll be a better skater. With reading all the takes on him, it’s sounding a lot like Nino vibes. Powerful shot, good two way game. Won’t take over offensively but won’t hurt it either. I’d be ok with that outcome.
I'll go to my grave thinking Johan Larsson got hosed by that trade.WJC captains have been a somewhat mixed bag fir the Wild: mainly good, and sure NHLers one and all.
The Good: Kaprizov, Ek, Zucker, Granlund
The not as good: Kunin, Larsson
I was a huge Larsson homer and agree. I'm not sure Buffalo developed one prospect in the time he was there. I think he'd have had a different career given a different environment.I'll go to my grave thinking Johan Larsson got hosed by that trade.
Buffalo had a ton of prospects, and a team is going to favor their internally drafted guys they are invested in.
He had a higher ceiling put go pigeon holed into 4th line
