Confirmed with Link: Liam O'Brien signs 3-year, $3M extension

Clean Hits on Substack
He brained up towards the end of the season and reduced the dumb penalties. He's fine for a 12/13 fwd. He did well to steal the show at the pep rally and is worth a couple bucks in the positive pub category.
He may have locked up a color commentary role post retirement also. Haha.

153 penalty minutes in 700 minutes of ice time is brutal. Rather give his ice time to one of the kids.
Somewhere around 115 of 153 of the penalty minutes were offsetting majors. Lawson Crouse had 3 times more minor penalties than LOB in the last 29 games of the season. Clayton Keller had 4 times more.

Like @Mosby mentioned, if a kid is good enough to beat out LOB, the kid will beat out LOB. Healthy scratching, waiving or whatever a 4th line grinder making $1m will not be some hard decision point if they have a better option.

Three years is still wild though. It's not a big deal at the end of the day, but would he have really turned down $1 million for 1 year?
Probably not but sends an inexpensive message favoring stability. It's only a couple bucks above league minimum. It's easy to get out of and it is low risk. Just not a big deal imho.
