Would you guys buy up Euros. It's way down

Hell no, CAD is going to parity with Euros.

PIGS needs out of the Euros asap to re-industrialize (re-shore), the issue is, even if they did that, they don't have the energy or resources to do it. Unless the French just smooth everything out and dump western Africa resources on them.

Inflation is transitory, relax. People are worried the fed acted too soon and too aggressive and now deflation is on the menu haha. These were the talking points a few weeks to a month ago. Let’s see what happens.

Real world inflation is much greater than the cooked books show at 9.1%. I don’t see a path out of this, I don’t see a soft landing and I think the fed will end up having to stop QT. I think many are underestimating the gravity of the situation. We’re in deep shit.

Too bad bitcoin is not an inflation hedge. :sarcasm:

As far as I know, nobody said the Fed acted too soon on here. The worries about deflation were actually on the contrary. That the Fed acted too late and, in order to calm things down, hiked more than it needed.

You can see gas going down pretty quickly in the past 3-4 weeks, as expected. That will help inflation for July and August. Lumber is down. Used car prices are down. Home sales are down.

Care to explain in a few sentences? Thanks

Both companies are being targeted by congress. Google proposed to breakup the search from the advertising, but still within Alphabet. I'm not sure how congress will see this but the Euros will just tell them to take a hike. A lot of Google's services are free, you could think that there is a lot of value in what will happen when they have to start charging...(for self-sufficiency).

Meta, it's instagram and whatsapp. Might take an ax in all that (banning Tiktok at the same time?)

Not sure how they would keep Apple & Microsoft untouched if they go after Google & Meta.

This will be the biggest movement of capital in history in a short amount of time, if it happens.

Bipartisan issue.

So you're bearish? Are you shorting either?

It's not a simple bearish - bullish,

I'm highly bullish on the long term of this, it needs to be done, these 5 companies are blocking progress in so many areas at this point, and their services are degrading due to a lack of competition.

However, there will be some absolute mayhem in the markets if its starts happening.

It also means quite a bit of inflation...

When they split standard oil, the parts were worth 5x more 10 years later.

My $SIGA shares doing quite well today 👀

BVNRY and SIGA for anyone looking for a monkeypox play

SIGA has been money (litterally) for me. I bought shares in early February, at 6.60 or something like that, and now it's up to 14.90.

I did not quite get that price, as I sold my shares earlier today at 14.58, but I'm overall pretty happy with how my first real foray into investments went.

But in the future I won't invest as heavily as I did this time. It was bad for my heart and I was constantly checking the stock market, more than I should.

Right on, congrats! I'm still holding 20k shares. Unfortunately I think this is just the beginning for monkeypox, the virus has mutated 50 times in the last 4 years, as opposed to once a year on average. Some scientists are speculating foul play, possible bioterrorism, etc.

Playing around in the dividends world on the Wealthsimple plateform for 3-4 months (rrsp account mainly), just wanted to know if there’s anything I don’t see in terms of negative with that plateforme, looks solid so far.

I’ve been using Wealthsimple for a few years. Is limited in ability etc, but overall I have been happy. I’ve never bought crypto on WS, nor would I.

Bipartisan issue.
Bipartisan issue, except congress hasn't been able to make any progress on this front for years. I don't think they will prioritize it, only talk.

Also ironic that both sides of the debate want to regulate Big Tech, but they have diametrically opposed views on what their problem is (spread of misinfo vs "government censorship!!!1").

2 bills set to be voted on in 2 weeks (against self-preferencing in a controlled marketplace: example Google showing Google Flight ahead of search results - Amazon is doing a lot of that as well, Apple.) Bipartisan solution. There was a law on ad clarity in 1995 that didn't go far enough and it opened the way to Google.

and Google would not propose to break itself up if they weren't sniffing around at the DOJ.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, SIGA up 7% again today after a 30% gain yesterday.

There's a CDC webinar today from 2PM to 3PM to specifically discuss TPOXX, the drug that is already authorized to treat monkeypox in Europe. In the states and in Canada, it is only authorized (so far) to treat smallpox. Vaccines won't be ready until 2023, and there's already chatter about its lack of effectiveness. SIGA has a partnership with Meridian, a subsidiary of Pfizer, to produce and distribute.

If anyone wants the link for the CDC webinar let me know.

The fees they charge vs. another broker I'd say. I know they have a trading platform and a robo-adviser platform, so not sure which one you use. But it seems really userfriendly vs. other brokerages. I used to be with virtual brokers (now CI trading), but I switched to Disnat when they removed the 7,99$CAD/trade fee last year.

Experts predict Euro to dip to around 80 cents USD. Going to be lengthy war.

Going to hard for countries whiich export to Europe

Yep CAD parity, that's my prediction as well.
The CAD will gain on the USD progressively as we start exporting natural gas to Europe in volume next year.

My experience getting into companies which has spiked like that they immediately go down. SIGA is non buy for me.

Do any of you fellows do after hours trading? Some opportunity there. Been watching earnings report after the bell, most are spiking, 10-15, even 20 %.
