I'm currently watching The Wire again, and IMO, this scene is one of the best ever filmed. So simple, yet such a great scene.

[SPOIL] I wonder if the director just said, hey man, for the lolz let's do a whole scene with only the F word and it's variants [/SPOIL]

NFSW by the way.

It reminds me of the '********' scene with Elvis Gratton in some ways. The tone of your voice says often so much more than the words you're using. Especially when it comes to words that fit so many situations (swearings!)

Or even this one in Bon cop, Bad cop. Bad words fit everywhere

Love that scene

Great time to rewatch this show. It looks great on Blu-Ray. My favorite show of all time.

What a convoluted and depressing mess this season of True Detective was... Holy crap I hope season three is better.

Wasn't that bad. Thought Farrell was terrific and when Vaughn finally went bad things got better. The ending was a little to dark though. They coulda done a better job

Just watched the TD finale. I don't know what to think, it was good, but I'm still as confused as I was at the beginning. Very dark and depressing is right. The music by Lara Lynn and her moody guitar really set the tone though, made me discover a new artist. Looking forward to a third season.

I started off being intrigued by the show, I mean, was it episode 2 and already CF got gunned down twice?? I felt potential there.
But as it got along, it just seemed like a clustercrap. Not much made sense to me.
Taylor Kitsch being gay seemed like such a terrible point. You could see from a mile away that he was going to get blackmailed and would get him in trouble. Typical..
It's like they wrote the series and by the end decided that they wanted to kill him so they figured, let's make him into a self-hating gay dude so it'll be easy to plan his blackmailing-death.
Ferrel and McAdams ''romance'', what the hell was that even about..?

I stopped paying close attention a few episodes ago. I'll watch with one eye on laptop and the other on tv, so I don't even get what this whole series was even about...Diamonds??..I just wasn't that interested anymore. The development was weak.
Such a disappointing season for me.

And Ballers, or should I say Entourage 2: Football Edition. I had such high hopes. I love sports shows and there aren't any to my knowledge out there now, so was looking forward to that one. We've seen what...like 5 football throws during practice? So far it's just a show in beautiful tropical weather, sunny all the time, with big fancy cars, models and escorts at every corner, booze, drugs and partying..So original..

I watched only 2 episodes of The Brink, wasn't bad but didn't click. Maybe need to keep watching.

But HBO needs to step it up. I hope they don't screw up season 2 of The Leftovers.

So, I finally got around to watching the finale of TD (s02). I came out with a feeling of disappointment, what a trainwreck of a season! It doesn't even come close to the writing/acting/cinematography of the first season. I sincerely hope that season 3 will be better than what HBO offered us here.

Thanks for that. A couple guys on my ball team were recommending it but I haven't got around to it because I couldn't shake the feeling it would be as you described.

Overall, I found the 2nd season of True Detective to be a disappointment with some great cinematography here and there (the party scene, the shooting). The references to classic LA movies were also good.

Otherwise, the storyline was complex but often uninteresting. It was too slow. Too many protagonists, too. In 8 episodes, you don't have enough time for so many stories.

I thought the Finale was well done by the way.

I won't be watching the 2nd season again. By comparison, I watched the 1st season at least 3 times already.

There were too many antagonists too.
Game of Thrones has a million different storylines going on but it`s been 50 episodes and we`re still learning things.

In 8 episodes, there were way too many useless time filling scenes. I mean, was the whole paternity issue important to the character build up at all?..They could have eliminated the boy completely. Would have changed nothing.

Too bad, it had potential. Major fail in my eyes.

I actually found season 2 to be on par with season 1 overall. I wasn't a big fan of either. Both worth watching, but way better shows out there.

Same with Game of Thrones.

Just something about HBO that doesn't hit home with me. I much prefer AMC's show line-up myself.

Game of Thrones isn`t comparable to TD.

Agreed. In the 1st season, these time filling scenes were used to get to know Rust and Marty, often with interesting dialogues. Everything, every little details, seemed to matter.

The last season, I found everything to be too dark. I'm not the type to whine against it - I mean, happy endings are terribly boring to me, but every characters in the 2nd season were troubled individuals. It helps to have a more positive vibe with some character if only to get some perspective, truly understand their sadness//problems.

By comparison, Rust was extremely pessimistic and aloof while Marty was portrayed as the average joe, more naive but kinder to people and life in general. The clash between both characters really helped getting into them.

I guess it's a matter of taste. I found True Detective's 1st season to be amongst the best series, ever.
