I'll take superhero films over phoney historically-inaccurate oscar bait films like Imitation Game and The King's Speech.

I'll happily accept to your comic book preference, but there's not a single "biographical" film ever that wasn't over dramatized and exaggerated.
And hyper exaggerated films depending entirely on CG and fairy tale stories are less objectionable?
If you want more truth and less fiction, watch a documentary. Unless it's by Leni Reifenshtal.
Your argument is circular. You are saying that we need to tolerate intellectually bankrupt films because other films are intellectually bankrupt as well. Sorry: no.
I'm also not arguing against dramatization in biography, which would be an absurd argument. I quite enjoyed The Wind Rises for example, whicu used dreams to illustrate the protagonist's journey. What I'm arguing against are phoney manipulations designed only to appeal to oscar voters. The King's Speech is cynical, The Wind Rises is not.
As for documentaries, I watch them. It is far less absurd to watch documentaries than your post implies. If you have a Netflix subscription there are a few thousand available at your fingertips.
Finally, comic book films are made to entertain and as expressions of their directors' passions (sometimes), they are thus intrinsically less cynical. Cash grabs like Amazing Spider Man 2 are transparent.

Saw it tonight. Great movie. Lots of fun.
I'm sticking to my guns and saying as far as movie trends go, I'd gladly suffer through an over saturation of super hero movies than whatever other crap trends happen.
Even the bad ones aren't even that bad. They employ an obscene amount of people.
If you want films with more 'substance' route through the entire history of world cinema and you'll find enough there to keep you busy 5 lifetimes over. Even old Hollywood movies have more brains, heart and better acting in one scene then most critically acclaimed movies from the last 20-30 years. Let alone the last 5-10.
Damn, Inside Out is already gone from my local theatre. I missed it because I was ill.
Meanwhile, Ant Man is playing on three different screens.
I might stay home tonight and stream LA Confidential over Netflix.
I liked LA Confidential but didn't love it.
It was weird seeing all those famous actors much younger. Russel Crowe ... lol.
Ant Man was awesome y'all.
Anyone checked out The Suicide Squad trailer? It looks intense. Leto is gonna make a terrific joker

Meh, as Oscar-bait as King's Speech was, it was a very good movie, bordering great.
I tend to dislike superhero movies, but that probably has to do with the setting of most of them.
Did watch Dracula Untold, which is, in a way, a historically-inaccurate superhero movie. Perfectly acceptable.
I watched Training Day tonight. I have no idea what it's supposed to be.

I absolutely hated that movie. Thought it was one of the most over-rated pieces of crap I've ever seen.
Found it very ironic Denzel won for that as it was one of his most cliched, over-wrought performances.
