So Batman vs Superman will essentially be a CGI fest with awkward dialogue. It looks pretty, but there doesn't appear to be any substance there. That's enough for the comic crowd to overhype it though.
Last 3 shows I watched
Utopia 9/10
Ascension 8/10
Suits 9.5/10
Suits annoys me a little bit. I like the show but when you stop to think about it the main character is basically a prodigy who remembers every single detail he's ever seen in his life but his next option after law school was being a bike courier who gets into a bad drug deal.
Like dude, you could've done ANYTHING else, ANYTHING.
Catching up on 2014 movies right now.
Guardians of the Galaxy - 8.5/10
I'm not a big fan of super hero "movies" but I still really enjoyed this movie, to my surprise. 8.5 seems a bit high but the fact that it didn't disappoint me despite the high expectations I had coming into this movie (mostly because of my friends) helped a lot. I understand the Chris Pratty hype now, far from the best actor out there but still very solid and charismatic.
Interstellar - 8.9/10
Another movie that was hyped a lot. Didn't let me down, although I wouldn't consider it "one of the best movie of all time" or anything like that. The mind blowing visuals and the fact that a good chunk of the science is actually pretty accurate (for a Sci-fi movie) made the movie for me. Dialogues weren't great though and there's always the time travelling paradox but still a very enjoyable movie. Finding out that the path of the light around the blackhole came from a simulation lead by Kip Thorne and that it actually ended up being part of a scientific paper was a nice surprise, while reading about the movie afterwards.
About to watch Nightcrawler now. Pretty much always like Gyllenhal's movies.
Just watched the latest Batman v Superman trailer and I can already tell something:
That movie will be bloated. So bloated, at some point you won't even care about what is actually happening.
Honestly. They're re-doing the Batman's origins, Superman's role on Earth. Add in Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Then Lex Luthor comes in. AND the main storyline is a fight between Batman and Superman over some disagreement they might have. BUT we know they'll end up working together at some point.
Really?
At least, they got something right compared to TDKR: Batman is living and fighting in the darkness. Like, you know, an actual freaking bat.
Aquaman is getting a cameo and Batman's origin will probably be sixty seconds.
The storyline is Superman's role on Earth. Having Batman and Lex react to that is the right idea.

Am I the only one enjoying true detective season 2? It's better than people are making it out to be
They don't focus much on his "gift" after the 1st season. He's good but he's no magician.
I did not give the show a perfect note because it does not do romance well. Also if you wait a few months between episodes you may get lost because it will refer to a detail of a past case that you will probably have forgotten. It's quite technical sometimes.
Quick poll.
John Wick or Boondock Saints?
Both excellent genre films. I take the Saints every time.
John wick. Boondock saints got ruined by the sequel. Just terrible
That's debatable. But let's just use the first film.
Does that change your outlook?
I enjoyed boondock saints. Still liked John wick a bit more. Maybe cause it was good to see Keanu reeves back in a genre that made him famous. Huge fan of Speed , point break and 2 of the 3 matrix. Hes the man for brainless action
Brainless for sure. Great action film. Worst dialogue ever.
I think the worst dialogue goes to the three Star Wars prequels. Wow that was bad. Hopefully JJ Abrams can bring the franchise back to life. I for one cannot wait
The dialogue in the original Star Wars movies was just as painful...
No, it was fine and adequate and that's part of why we quote it nearly forty years later.
Will anybody be lovingly quoting Attack of the Clones in thirty years? Probably not.
