Man you think like myself at times. "How the hell did they present this to a producer and he/she thought it was a great idea for a show!"

I used to think that about a lot of shows.

Now, I just chalk it up to the ready availability of a substantial number of people who will consume just about anything.

I should really apologize for that and I do that. Didn't know she had rheumatoid arthritis and due to that started drinking a lot. That could change anyone's appearance. Btw, Selma Hayek stumbled a little bit when she did her tease in that Mexican strip joint and they kept it. It's a tiny misstep when walking backwards but it was noticeable (Edit: especially if you are watching her intensely). The biggest one I have ever seen apart from Ed Wood stuff was for a series about alien lizards taking over called V. Three people playing humans were walking armed with some sort of space pistols when one of them stumbles and you can see he starts to swear and prepares to cut it but they don't so they continue. Apparently V is full of these mistakes. I had a friend who always played that part on a VCR whenever he had a party.

Speaking of V and series that get pulled, as a fan of the old V series and mini-series and movies, I really liked the remake with Morena Baccarin as the lizard queen and Laura Vandervoort as her daughter (double hubba) and was really pissed when they pulled it after only one season.

Was better than a lot of shit we've had since then.

I had to look both of them up. Yes, definitely better than the original when it comes to appearances. ;)

I also was a fan of the old series and really loved the new one too.....but as youas, Morena as the queen lizard kind of make me bias on the whole thing.

John le Carré or David Cornwell, the master of the spy novels that made you think has passed away at 89. Given that quite a few of them were made into films and series he deserves a mention here as well.

Thanks for posting about this.

Wondering if anyone has a favourite film or two based on a Le Carré novel.

How’d you guys like that first episode of Your Honor?

The BBC Smiley series with Alec Guiness is my favorite but given how much details are in the novels the film that was made with Oldman as Smiley was decent enough to watch. I don't remember much from "The Spy Who Came in from the Cold" film with Richard Burton and Claire Bloom. There was another BBC series for "A Perfect Spy" which was really good. Didn't like "The Little Drummer Girl" very much, same with "The Russia House" with Connery. I liked "The Constant Gardener" film. "The Night Manager" series was excellent, kept me on my toes even though the book is about South America and not the Middle East and who could imagine House to be such a brilliant psychopath.

Man, you're a real fan. I can't say I saw as many but I agree about The Night Manager, it was great.

It's that time of year again ...

Had to look up all that he has done and was surprised at how many I've read or seen. He certainly can pen a good story.

Re-watched Contact the other night, it's an OK movie. Not as good as his top ones but worth watching.
