It was well received by critics I believe and it's most likely better than Passchendaele
Tarantino and most of his movies are extremely overrated. He has a specific fluff-gore niche he carved for himself but story wise, his movies are very superficial.Tarantino has yet to make a bad movie IMO, all his movies are from good to great so I trust this one will be good too
Gotta defend my boy Eisenberg.glad to see even after months of ignoring this thread, mitch is still at it
I have not seen a joke land as flat as the manslaughter line in a long long time. You're crazy. Looks great so far, another funny and action filled movie. He's never struggled with these before, can't imagine him laying an egg with Brad Pitt and Leo in the same movie.
you know a director is good as soon as whenever his name gets mentioned you get at least 3 people people giving you an unwanted "he sux btw lol overrateeeddd"
hot takes are a form of confirmation
now let's talk about Nolan next
That's probably what I'd tell myself too if my favorite director was Quentin Tarantino
Blackkklansman is actually really good. Funny, suspensful and all.Was curious as to why Green book won best picture. Watched it last night. I started fast forwarding around the 30 minute mark. The usual I'm a racist and you're not premise with a mob setting. Was OK I guess but, best picture? Come on.
I think I'll watch another nominee but not sure which one yet. Black Knight doesn't interest me neither does BlackkKlansman. I know what A Star is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody are, that leaves The Favourite, Roma and Vice. 18th century England bores me and who cares about Dick Cheney. So Roma it is.
Who cares about your favorite movie director, it's not an art its entertainment stop being snub movie watchers you punks.

Thanks, I'll add it to my list.Blackkklansman is actually really good. Funny, suspensful and all.
If you guys can't take having your favorite directors criticized, a movie discussion thread/the internet as a whole is not a place for you.Who cares about your favorite movie director, it's not an art its entertainment stop being snub movie watchers you punks.
STOP ENJOYING THINGS
That sounds Michael Moorish. As far as I could tell, Vice is a far more important film to see to determine what bull**** they're trying to peddle now vs actually being interested in it for entertainment sake. As far as I can tell, the movie does what it can to make the Bush's appear as if they were merely in the passenger seat.
I don't give a flying f*** about "a director". I don't watch movies because a guy has made it, I watch a movie because it looks interesting, no matter who made it. People are so narrow minded and butthurt about everything. Any time I hear the word overrated except to describe Pink Floyd, Danault or Queen I get mad.If you guys can't take having your favorite directors criticized, a movie discussion thread/the internet as a whole is not a place for you.
Snowflakes abound

Wow it's like you can't watch something with a critical eye.Who cares about your favorite movie director, it's not an art its entertainment stop being snub movie watchers you punks.
I mean, you can. It's just stupid to do so because it's subjective. It's like trying to rank a bunch of people on their attractiveness.Wow it's like you can't watch something with a critical eye.
Also lol at a grown man using the word snowflake
but also if I have to return the favour, i'm open to hearing why you think Tarantino is overrated and i'll take it like an adult
"he's overrated." is not really a critique it's a dumb "snowflake" throwaway take for reactions, to use your own term
I didn't say he's overrated. He has good films -- Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds, and Jackie Brown are great works. He has his style and I feel, in those films, that style is really at its peak. The dialogue, the writing, and the pacing is just stellar in those. The rest of the films do not do anything for me and I find are complete chore to watch. Reservoir Dogs feels like a 14 year old boy fantasy and really didn't age well. The Hateful Eight was pointless and just a 2 hour long reason for him to have a woman get beat up. Django Unchained was him feeling like he could make a movie about race; he shouldn't. It also wasn't good and was far too long. Kill Bill might as well not be a Quentin Tarantino movie since it's just a direct copy of a bunch of old samurai films. Death Proof is OK, but again, I feel it's just pointless.but also if I have to return the favour, i'm open to hearing why you think Tarantino is overrated and i'll take it like an adult
