First; lets look at his goals.

Goal #6

Just before he enters the zone, he stops, enters the zone, slowly circles,
does basically nothing, nobody is defending him, just god awful defending
from Jackets players. Thou, i gotta give Podkolzin some credit,
taking advantage over that situation, he slowly enters front of the net
and easily taps the puck in to a empty net.

But really, does nothing special, 8 / 10 NHL:ers could do the same,
i mean, that didn't take much of anything, slow skating, waiting,
got super lucky because no one was defending him and easy
empty net tap in.

High hockey sense? high luck rather.

Goal #5

Front of the net, again nobody defends him, he waits there, puck is behind the net,
puck is passed to the blue line, puck is thrown to the net, Podkolzin
tries to redirect it, but the puck hits the first Jacket player, 3 Jackets players
react, all of them head towards neutral zone, Hughes picks the puck
back to Canucks, Hughes quickly passes the puck to Podkolzin,
who is completely open with Petterson,

Podkolzin slowly turns around fires the puck, he scores,
the puck hits Jackets players skate who is on his knees,
and it redirects in bottom far corner. Its a good quick shot,
but he wasn't aiming bottom far corner.

But i think most of the goal is on that quick shot, so credit to Podkolzin,
thou Quinn Hughes great defensive play and quick pass made it all happen.

Goal #4

You all know how i dislike redirect goals but yeah, Podkolzin is between the circles,
its PP, waits waits waits, its a week thrown in, Podkolzin gets a stick to it,
then it pinballs in and i'm 99% sure, it hits Pearson as well,
but the goal is credited to Podkolzin.

The puck first hits Penguins player shoulder, then it hits Pearson, the the goalie's
shoulder and it then hops over goalie, trickles in, very lucky goal.

So are you actually going to analyze anything or are you just going to narrate every goal and an assist even though we are all perfectly capable of watching the videos ourselves?

Goal #3

Its a counter attack by the Stars, Podkolzin seems to be behind the play,
Klingberg looses the puck, it goes back, as a counter-counter attack,
puck is quickly passed to neutral zone, Garland skates in to the
offensive zone, cross the ice pass and Podkolzing scores with
a sweeping one timer, left top corner. Good shot good goal.
- kudos to Podkolzin

Goal #2

He challenges Rangers player, gets knocked down to the ice,
slowly gets up. Puck goes to corner, then blue line, from blue line
to corner through behind the net, to Garland, who quickly
passes it to Podkolzin, who is skating to the net, goal.

Gets a huge lucky advantage with him falling down, he is
wide open, he sees the puck entering the corner and behind the
net to Garnland, starts to skate towards the net, nobody
around him, good shot, good short side goal from the circle.

Credit to Podkolzin from his offensive zone challenge
and his good shot, but again, luck does follow him around,
without him falling down, he would not have been in the right
place in the right time.

Goal #1

Can't really see what he does before he gets the pass but.. d-man opens the attack
with his great pass forwards other d-man makes a nice play, pass the puck
to Podkolzin, Podkolzing skates to the circle, good shot, good goal, congrats
from 1st goal.

Watch the clip again and you’ll see him subtly block out LAF from getting to OEL which lead to LAF taking both of them down. Then he “slowly” gets up and gets to the net before LAF to snipe the one timer.

I would like to see some other highlights of him, could canucks fans post few.

I ve been reading lots of positive and praises about him, i haven't watched many
Canucks games this season (5), in those games he has not impressed me.
- way better in the d-zone what in the o zone.

Rarely, he does get a good shot on goal,
he might have a good/decent shot in him
but i have seen bad attempts as well.

It seems it depends how he is positioned,
and depends on situation, what makes the biggest difference,
also, he needs lots of (free) space and time for his shot.

I think too often he waits too much things to happen,
if he drives the play at times, show me clips please
i'd like to analyze those clips.

And what comes to his highly debatable height, a bit off topic, i know.

While watching tonights Canucks game, in the 3rd,
he was right next to Danault on the ice,
who is 6 foot 1, and he was an inch shorter, so
his actual height would be 6 foot 0 (183 cm)

Why is a leaf fan making random threads with analysis with regards to a Canuck rookie just to bash him? It seems like a low key Canucks bashing thread right after their long winning streak. Podkolzin has played great so far, was never going to be an elite scorer just a strong 2 way forward who has been great defensively.

Well thats probably an /thread since your in depth analysis is not great based on a couple of games and a 2 minute youtube clip. Canucks fans are happy with Podkolzin, dont know what you were expecting?

He's not a Leafs fan. His screen name is a 'translation' of his favourite player, Jere Lehtinen, if I'm not mistaken.

The best part of Podkolzin is his IQ and this is reflected in the lines he takes on the ice... And how he takes handedness into consideration when attacking.
Makes him extremely reliable defensively.

His finish will take time developing...
