I'm not sure it was a great deal for Letestu. I wonder if this was the Jackets were looking for a one year deal and he wanted a longer term for some security. He was probably motivated to stay here because of the role he has been given.

Either way, not too shabby for an non-drafted player.

I wanted to trade him because I thought we could get a really good return, but I am more than happy to keep him with those numbers. IMO, that is one of the best contracts in the NHL now.

I'm consider Letestu mighty overrated in these parts but that cap hit is a borderline rip off for him. I'm happy he's coming back at that price.

Long term bottom six two way player that can provide secondary scoring and is good at killing penalties while filling in on the top six in the event of injuries or poor play? Nope, I don't think he's overrated.

What do you think people think of him to suggest he's "mightily overrated"?
