I didn't have "The Bold and the Beautiful" discussion on my HF26 thread tangent bingo card today.
To close the loop.....what kind of barbecue does Massimo like? Eastern or Western?
Back in the 80's, when the English teacher asked what is "olette pidätetty" in English, the first answer wasn't "you are under arrest", it was "you're busted!" in the voice of Belker from Hill Street Blues.
HSB was appointment TV back in the day. Truly a ground breaking show that put Steven Bochco on the map (he actually worked on Columbo among others prior). His run with Hill Street, LA Law and NYPD Blue was pretty incredible.

Yeah, Bochco and Aaron Spelling were everywhere.

Saturday morning musing...

A Svech-Kuznetsov-Tarasenko line might be fun to watch. I know the likelihood of it happening are probably ZERO. Just fun to think about, anyway.

Man, what a crappy draft 2012 was in the top 5.

Yak: Bust
Murray: Meh defenseman, oft injured
Galchenyuk
Reinhart: Woof. although NYI tricked Chiarelli into taking him and turned it into Barzal (I think)
Rielly: Good pick and good value for this spot
I remember when Burke, post draft, said they had Reilly #1

Guess he wasn't just blowing smoke

I had a dream.

Canes re-sign Pesce and Teravainen to 2 year deals.

E5

Keep doing that, sir.

I remember prior to the 2011 draft, I asked the Canes website insider guy (Paul something, can't remember anymore, kind of looks like Walt Ruff to be honest) what the thought process was to how strong the 2011 draft would be.

The answer I got was the consensus was 2011 was a "weak" draft and everyone was gearing for 2012, which was supposed to be a "strong" draft.

As it turns out, 2011 wasn't that bad. 2012 wasn't like 1999 weak but woof, still pretty bad.

Interestingly enough, Canes have 6 players on the current roster due to that draft (5 drafted) and had 8 (7 drafted) at the end of last season:

1) Traded our 2012 1st round pick for Jordan Staal
2) Drafted Slavin in the 4th round.
3) Traded for Teravainen (1st round pick), Skjei (1st round pick), Andersen (3rd round pick) and Martinook (2nd round pick)

Had Gostisbehere (3rd round pick) and MacEachern (3rd round pick) on the team last year as well.

All these gms have lil bawls....can't even make a franchise altering trade.

Must be something in the water lowering all their T compared to the ballers from the past who could swing a deal :sarcasm:

Just sign tda already and stop f***ing off.
I want my under 2m 50 point lefty enraging d man back.
There's just the teeny minor technical detail that Philly has not yet actually terminated his current SPC, or at least it happening has not been reported to the public yet. They are now cleared to do it, but apparently haven't yet done it.

If the process left any ill will, Philly may want to toy with us a bit like we was Montreal or something.

"Go sign your f***ing Karlsson now, stupid Caneman, why dontcha."

I would rather have tda at like 1.5 than Karlsson at like 6m. Sorry. I'd rather keep the 5m in cap toward a forward.

With us having orlov overpaid now too. I'm totally against this Karlsson crap.

I hope this is a genius move by the borg to get tda cheaper. My guess is tda wants to sign here. Especially after playing for Torts

I don't think Orlov is overpaid, but I'm with ya on TDA vs Karlsson. We need a forward. Or three. Offense from the D has not been a problem. Sign TDA, re-sign Pesce and Skjei (and Aho!), even if it costs a bit to do it.
