so Leddy get's Perron's money, Accari get's Bozak's spot and we swap Husso for Greiss?

Surely Army's got more up his sleeve; otherwise it looks like he's gunning for a Wild Card instead of a Division crown.
I mean I personally don't really care about winning the division as long as we get in, and we are still the 2nd best team in the division as it currently stands.

The team is basically the same minus Perron. Hopefully Armstrong can move Scandella in order to bring in one more forward, and then we would be fine.

Doug Armstrong has been flying too close to the sun and today he fell from the sky on fire.....and right into a dumpster.

We couldn't pay DP $4.75m AAV for 2 years???????

Remember the middle of the season when RoR was still suffering long-Covid and Perron was in a deep slump and a large part of the board was slamming both of them into the ground and wanting to get rid of them?

Now Perron leaves and it's a franchise ending travesty and they are calling for the GM to be fired.

If it's not a player getting turned on at the drop of a dime, it's the coach, and if it's not then it's the GM.

So the top 9 is something like
Saad-ROR-Kyrou?
Buch-Thomas-Tarasenko
Barbashev-Schenn-Neighbors?

You're describing maybe two people.

Actually, not even a single person has called it a franchise ender. This hyperbole is worse than what it is criticizing

I posted “fire Armstrong” on the main board thread partially in jest. But the mixed signals are frustrating.

Are we going all in this year? Then you sign Perron. Are we looking towards 2024? Then you honor Tarasenko’s trade request.

Watching the Lightning struggle against the Avs’ forecheck made me more of a believer in our team. We were really close last year. So why let one of our best contributors walk for a reasonable contract? You’d think Barbashev or Scandella could’ve been the sacrifices instead.

Ok. So now I'm pissed. DA couldn't give Perron 4.75 AAV for 2 FRIGGIN YEARS. What did he do, low ball him with a 3.0AAV offer? The backup goalie crap is one thing.... but now Perron is a friggin Red Wing. I gotta go barf and scream at the empty air for a while!! All right @TheDizee, I'm officially on the band wagon. This is the final straw.

What a f***ing disgrace.

I figured Detroit paid a fortune for DP, but no. We could have done that.

DA has lost his magic. He came crashing down to earth today.

Gotta imagine this is a sign ROR won’t be brought back as well right?

Pretty confused by the deal. But maybe they are wanting the youth to become the new Core?

Still not sure why we didn’t bring Perron back at this cost though. I get the LD situation was pretty rough last season but losing an upper end guy on a contract like that also hurts.

If it cost a 2nd and a 3rd for Nemeth to be moved I would be surprised if we couldn’t have found something similar or even something lighter to move on from Scandella if the cap was truly a major factor

DA appears to not give a crap about loyalty and heart.

What an ass.
I’m not sure why this is now donning on you. Armstrong has always been ruthless in negotiations. There was a report that stated he was the GM agents liked dealing with the least.

I've been wrong questioning Armstrong - and eaten too much crow - to do it again.

Perron signed a very reasonable contract. I suppose the Blues would have given him one year but he chose one extra year in Detroit. His call.

A an all-time great Blue. Hope he has a great time in Detroit - he's earned his way into a great career.

Why do people just assume Armstrong can trade Scandella on a whim? This isnt “I dream of Genie”. You have to have a trade partner.
