Yep. Another, one of the biggest factor, was that anyone who had a great game seemed to go on and brag about themselves as the best thing since sliced bread. A lot of people seemed to be full of themselves.

Feels that situation has improved now, but I don't follow it that closely
Maybe getting off topic a bit here but for me it’s the lack of loyalty….players constantly asking for trades to form super teams.

And the way every big contract in the NBA seems to have 'opt outs' where they can become a UFA a year or two into the contract and force their team to really give into trade demands because the player can just opt out and they lose them for nothing.
I do not want to ever see those opt outs coming to the NHL, would rather have a million ads on the jerseys than that.

You Duckfans who got a lot more knowledge about your players , who would the perfect linesmates for Calsson be. Is it his current ones or would you prefer a different constalation?

Zegras and whomever's willing to shoot and/or crash the net. Z and Leo are the only forwards we have capable of making quick passing plays. They'd do great with a power forward on their line.

It feels like Gauthier and Terry, who are also smart players and can put it in the net.

Troy's a great player but doesn't utilise his linemates very well. I think he'd be better off with players that don't need the puck on their stick but can make room for him.

IMO/YMMV.

Anyone else a little concerned about Leo? He seems to be a shell of the player that he was earlier in the season.
Not at all, he’s a rookie in his D+1. Even with the two absolute stinker games he still has 3 points in his last 5 games right? He’ll be fine, this league is tough as shit, especially for teenagers who aren’t “generational” talents.

I'm more concerned that the current environment is not the best for a guy that young. When you have some veteran guys playing with what looks like apathy and lack of pride when they're getting dominated it's just not something you'd love seeing your top young players exposed to. It's not something they can't get over once the team is healthy/better built and coached with better systems and a winning philosophy, but it adds to the frustration of these horrendous losses.

But I'm not concerned about his development trajectory. Strome is not a reliable line partner and clearly doesn't have much chemistry with Leo and it doesn't help that Rico has been cold lately.

I would like to agree with this but he had his best year with Getzlaf. I think it's really more of a Terry problem. He just needs to make quicker decisions. Every time he gets the puck I feel like he's thinking too much about what play to make.

In theory I think gautheir is an ideal line mate.

I also think zegras healthy will be a solid fit…. Zegras and carlsson both high iq players that see the ice / game on a different level…. Gautheir is a pure goal scorer. I think zegras and carlsson both also understand they have to be goal scoring threats, despite being more of play maker stylistically. Hoping at the end of the year we see

Gautheir carlsson zegras

You had a rough game against us(leafs), but i realy hope you get going so the whole Ducks team get more confidence.

A Carlsson with confidence will be fantastic to watch. And yeah he need a good goalscorer to finish his passes. You got a bright future.

I think we’ll be fine in time…. But man it’s tough to watch some nights

He needs to make better decisions with the puck, and he needs to be better at completing his passes.

No doubt he still has a lot to learn. We have enough young talent playing in the nhl already that we really need to get them playing more cohesively and achieving better results. How much of that is on PV and/or Cronin, I don’t know, but they need to get it figured out muy pronto. This bullshit about losing so we can draft the next great magic bean is just plain wrong.

Well the point of it was so his play didn't drop off as the season went on. Of course he wasn't tired in his first 10 games.
I think that was one of the points and not the entire point, but I agree that it hasn't been successful in preventing a drop off
