Could see Filmon getting an outside look at Canada’s roster, but yeah, Lenni, Casey and Nemec if the team lets him compete, which I highly doubt.

I don’t see Filmon realistically getting a shot, the depth at forward on Canada is just ridiculous even when you subtract all the guys who probably won’t be released by their NHL team.

Leddy has a better shot with the US team despite the depth at RHD.

yeah i'm confused - sure, he's not upping his point pace vs last season, but he's got 18pts in 15 games, which is on pace for 78pts in 65. last season he hit 75pts in 64
Goal heavy last year, and that goal pace is down substantially this year. And while a cool down in goals could have been expected one would hope it wouldn't be this drastic, and that the assists would pick up to the point that the overall point rate would be up. That's what you really want to see, an upward trend.

Now it is still pretty early, and he may be playing some center with some less talented wingers, so there is some context to consider.

Not sure about Hutson, but behind Chocodiles for sure.
Wow, that's a blast from the past. I was always partial to the Swiss Rolls. Wasn't a chocodile basically a devil dog? I'm sure all of those snacks were the most unhealthy things back in the 1970s. The primary ingredient was probably arsenic or maybe lead.

I think the main ingredient of a twinkie is literally something akin to a yoga mat.

But Chocodile was basically a chocolate covered twinkie.

It’s really not about the pace, he needed to explode with way more production to have a chance.

He’s not a two-way player or a C/W, they don’t need that many scoring RW.

2004s who were at the Team Canada Summer Showcase (unlike Filmon)
Firkus 16GP 17G 16A 33 Pts
Dumais 8GP 9G 12A 21 Pts

2005 Yager 15GP 11G 11A 22 Pts
Yager is a center but he’ll likely be bumped to a scoring line RW.

That’s about it. Then Team Canada is likely looking for more two-way guys for the 4th line. They have a near endless stack of centers for extra forwards.

Filmon had 28 assists last year so it’s great to see him at a 52 assist pace this season. (That is going down unfortunately because his center Hvidston is still out.)

Lenni is back today, but unfortunately now the lines center Järvinen is out from the line-up. Due to some of the other centers having pairs they have some chemistry with the usual 4th line center Feetu Knihti, who did play well yesterday, will be with Lenni and Erholtz.

Had 13:06 ice time, but gave some good passes on the pp for several chances, and on his best close chance the puck was rolling too much.

After that great Tappara match the last seven games have overall been a bit too much of a difficult time for the team. Seems like other teams have also figured things out better now.

Next week only one game on Thursday.

On Monday they estimated that Järvinen will be out for 6 weeks so back around new years. A great big hit for whole team, and we'll see how Lenni manages in these 8 games before the WJC.

After the Knihti try (and being presented as the 3rd line on the Liiga site), they're logically going with Marcus Davidsson between the winger duo (and back to being shown as the 1st trio). The center was expected to be a good top-6 guy, but despite some good hustle has still been one of the bigger disappointments so far on the team with 0 points in 10 games.

:crossfing !

In the first 25min the line has gotten several quality chances, but the shooting quality is not quite there so far...
And a few more in the next 40min.

In OT Lenni looked more sharp than in the first 60. First game with this combo after his injury so fingers will stay crossed that things will improve.

Special teams look improved, but overall it just feels like too many guys are holding their sticks too tightly.
