with Beck and his "connections" that was amusing--but the funniest story I heard was that Don Cherry insisted he trade Beck due to the fact Beck reportedly tapped Blue with his hockey stick

I know that Rene Robert when he was playing under Cherry in Colorado snapped his fingers at Blue to call him over and Blue didn't like that and never "forgave" him for it. Or at least always snubbed Robert after that. Pretty funny, and a story told by Cherry. But something like that would never get a guy traded.
