Not sure why this person only focuses on the negative. They choose to make a big deal about the bad things and ignore all the positive. Things are on track despite what they say, because it is only THEIR opinion. The arena is going to get done. Things are looking good. I'm gonna be fine and that's what matters.
"This person" is a reporter I've worked with and whose opinion I trust. If he says the news is expected to be bad, it's because he's vetted it with his sources.

Looks like they are debating restarting the entire process.

In a way this could be good news, if Melnyk loses the Lebreton deal, I don't think he remains the owner for much longer.

It could be a Christmas miracle, I hope he bungles it up prior to doing any more major damage to the bid/team and city and then is booted the f outta here!

Need a spin job from one of Euge' supporter's here, down day I need a laugh!

Imagine them dumping EM, and proceeding to build a new arena without him involved? Omg. That would be the ultimate collective middle finger from the city.

On the other hand, proceeding with new plans that don't include an arena would be a potential death sentence for the franchise...

Odds on that it's all John Ruddy's fault somehow.

Anyway, I'm all for dunking on Melnyk here – it seems well deserved – but I'm also pretty bummed about this. Would've been such a huge boon to the team. I'm not writing it off entirely but the whole redevelopment looks to be in danger right now.

I had posted this in "Melnyk Breaking Point" thread weeks ago in response to bullshit "rumour" about ownership:

..if Warren has a business losing, he will not drag the other business into its demise. He will put it to pasture. If EM is losing enough, he will not get his hard earned money from somewhere else because the entitled fans wants him to. This business is a separate entity and should remain that way. So, this holding back may not get the desired results for the entitled fan.

Good. So where is this debt laden owner who is bleeding profusely (by his own admission and by lack of fan support financially) get the loans to pay the debt payments AND put sureties for Lebreton? I thought you said you were connected, but obviously not connected enough to know that both Ruddy and Bird are pissed at this situation. You think they will let Melnyk kill the RLG development ambition at Lebreton? You don't think DCDLS aren't chomping at the bits? You think the only interested party is the one that made the offer (the group we both know that have been talking partnership-ownership in the summer)?

Mods deleted my post when I took the guy's name in one of the responses, so I have.been ignoring these types of conversations since. But allowing a person to be posting BS as legit rumours/behind the scene stuff is ridiculous.

I am glad this is now out in the open, the noose is tight, the chair Melnyk is standing on has broken legs.

This is potentially disastrous to the Sens, but as an Ottawa resident this is awful. This is so huge for the city. Melnyk better figure it out fast.

LOL

Where there is smoke, there is fire. Again and again. Some posters will never learn.

Where is Tnuoc to help us understand this?

This has to be one of the biggest real estate opportunities in North America. I can't believe he hasn't got his shit together. Well I can actually, but still.

Well who could have possibly seen issues between Eugene and his partners... ;)

The sooner this cancer is no longer owner if the Sens, the better.

Today is a GREAT day.

I think the Karlsson trade was enough to show us that while mysens may know people, his insider information is useless.

This is fantastic for the Sens and the citizens of Ottawa.

It is terrible for Eugene. His asking price will have to go WAY down.

Looks good on the idiot.
