For the Wild, I don't think there's any pick I dislike. The guys I would have preferred at 42 had already been taken, and Firstov sounds like he has some good potential. The one pick I don't necessarily understand is Hunter Jones at 59, but I don't really know goalies, and they're so unpredictable anyway. I'm not upset about the pick, and I can't even say who I would have rather taken instead, so I'll wait to see how he turns out. I've heard some good things about him since the draft.

Kind of wanted Patrik Puistola and he ended up being drafted with one of the Wild's picks (73). As you say, goalies are crap shoots so I don't love it when you give up an extra pick to grab a guy. As for Firstov, there's some potential there but certainly there were guys with a bit more love from the scouting community on the board. Known skating issues, not really a position of need, and going to a middle-tier NCAA program...not a great bet, early on.

Logan MacMillan.

The Ducks picked that clown over Pacioretty and you just knew at the time it happened it was a huge mistake

Edit: Didn't read the thread correctly. I'm fine with all the ducks' picks this year

As expected, a lot of bluster. Don't worry, I won't begin to try to speculate about your track record. I couldn't care less about your track record. I don't even know if I recognize your poster name.

Kirby Dach. Hope he proves me wrong. But the last time we drafted a guy with all that he brings? Kyle Beach. And he was a disaster.
I wanted Alex Turcotte if we were taking a forward. Much more confident in his skill set.

But we'll see.

Not necessarily disappointed with any player, and hell we didn't pick until #62, but for a pipeline (and in a couple years-NHL team) that is absolutely starved for defense especially LHD, to have 5 picks and take 3 forwards and 2 goalies seems very strange.

Also didn't like that the goalie they picked in round 3 was about the 7th best goalie on the board.

And this is more of a joke than anything, but don't love that 3 of the 5 were from the QMJHL. Not exactly an NHL factory over there.
I actually luv the Colten Ellis pick and a lot people consider him a steal and much better than the 7th best G available. I low key like our draft, I would’ve preferred a few others to Alexandrov but he’s growing on me as a Lars Eller type player. Washkurak seems like an in your face buzz saw with some skill(maybe future bottom 6 kinda player). I don’t know anything about either 7th rounder tho

The Habs threw away 3 picks IMO.

LEguerrier
Harvey Pinard
That Manitoba kid

There was just flat out better players left.

I also hate that they exclusively picked LDs.

Montreal's draft was the most "WTF" draft I've seen in a long time, top to bottom. If it pans out, it will be legendary for MB. If it doesn't, we will all look at is as an example of the risks of going way off board.

especially since Bob was signed right afterwards... head scratcher

The bigger head scratcher was the contract. Best case scenario, Knight will be NHL ready after 2-2.5 seasons. There’s also a chance that he needs 3-3.5 and he might also be a player that isn’t immediately ready to start. If Knight is taking over as the starter at age 23 and Bob is backing up the final two years, you’ve still likely went from elite production to elite production with no lull, but I still would not pay that contract to such an inconsistent goalie.

Kyle Beach was meat head with me me attitude.

Don't really have a problem with who the Canucks took. Carson Focht in the 5th seems like a waste but it's just a 5th. My problem is what they did when they weren't drafting players.

Yeah,Focht seems to be our semi regular head scratching WHL pick like Jakob Stukel a couple years age.Maybe the scouts feel he had a major breakthrough towards the end of the season otherwise there isn’t much about him,or his stats, that really stands out.
