Much as I love Jack Campbell, he really isn't playing well lately.

I still think he's a good goaltender. He is neither the Messiah nor a sieve. He will just have to keep working at it, just like everyone else.

I do remember very clearly when Garret Sparks lost my confidence. I had given every benefit of doubt until one time he couldn't catch an unscreened shot on his glove side. I thought that should be routine, and concluded that after all we'd seen he just does not have the talent and abilities to be an NHL goaltender.

That moment came back to me on the Ducks' second goal -- the three-on-one -- but I've reached a quite different conclusion. Campbell is still the real thing. Not necessarily a World-beater, but a very capable NHL goalie. That's nothing to sneeze at.

Thanks for the dinner Ducks!

Not gonna lie these fanless games are getting lame. Especially when you see other arenas packed
It's tough, same with the Raptors. COVID only matters in Canada apparently, since both levels of our government have invested so heavily in building moderna a new manufacturing facility here in Ontario it's only natural there won't be fans at our games for awhile yet

I didn’t really love the game. We were strong in ways we should be strong and weak in places where we have been weak. So from that perspective it doesn’t feel like we’re back to the November December level which is where I want to see this team.

Other than that Campbell’s been real leaky but hopefully he can build up some more confidence.

You're joking, right? That was one of the most dominant games of the year, there is not much the Leafs (or any team) can do better besides better puck luck.

I know they won but you can't tell me something isn't off with Jack Campbell.

He needs to get his shit together because ever since the blown 4-1 lead against Colorado Jack Campbell has not been the same

I thought it was too slow and deliberate but hey it got the job done. The latter one though...

Rewatch the JT goal, that was a set play and a helluva one at that. 34 leaves the zone and when he re-enters he draws Getzlaf to him at the top of the circle which opens up the Ducks triangle. 34 then feeds 16 at the red line and 91 rotates from the front of the net to the middle slot which Getzlaf exposed by pressuring 34. 44 even slipped backdoor just in case. The whole setup was beautiful and happened because the Leafs placed two forwards at the red line which enables them to turn the d around and have 3 attackers attack coming downhill.

He has been off, but he deserves credit for overcoming those struggles to help the team get 2 points in the SO. It would have been real easy to fold once he conceded the 3rd. He's also been a bit unlucky lately with tips and bounces around his crease.

The Ducks had absolutely no business being in the game tonight. Gibson stole a point in what should have been a blowout.

The revamped lines looked good. No goals at even strength but that was all Gibson. Definitely worth another look.

It’s different because if you get sick in Canada the government has to pay, if you get sick in the US it’s all on you.

It's a tale of two sets of blown leads really.

In the last 3 games that we have given up a 3-1 lead we have outshot the opponent (Anaheim,St.Louis,NewYork) 75-51 after going up that score and have been outscored 11-3. Goaltending is definitely to blame a bit but we have also been unlucky.

The previous 3 3-1 blown leads against Vegas/Colorado/Chicago we got absolutely caved in getting outshot 38-80 and outscored 10-2. The team sucked in those three.

Not impressed. All kinds of chances and could only score on the PP (one on a 2-man). Can't blame Soup for the first one, but the others weren't good.

TO outshots Ana. 31 to 11 after 2 periods, then gets outshot 9-8 in the last period which allowed Ana. to tie and almost win the game. It's the letup that's becoming disturbing, in the last about 7 games TO is being soundly out played in the 3rd, it's a problem that needs to be addressed.

In the 1st period TO had 17 shots, in the 2nd 14 so why only 8 in the 3rd?

Many feel TO needs an upgrade on d but if TO had played in the 3rd as it did in the first 2 periods this would've been an easy win, it's not the TO's d that caused the significant drop in shots or the lack of TO goals in the 3rd. Adversity still seems to be an issue with TO, if teams fight back with considerable effort TO crumbles, we've seen this in the playoffs for the last 5 years and the team doesn't appear to be maturing?

Earlier in the year TO could come back when behind or reasonably easily defend leads both visually and with true results, now it just feels tenuous but we are getting into the time of year when games are getting tougher, can TO handle the pressure.

Jack tried to give away a game we dominated. Leafs were all over them those first two periods. Everyone but him was very good, well other than Lilly's odd gaffe.

We're going to need another good dman and Petr to get hot and inspire Jack to outplay him or rest more.

Soup was fine. Engvall scores the first. Deflection on 3rd. Only legit goal was essentially a breakaway. Not even that was horrible.
That defection was 100% on Dermott who played it like a 12 yr old. It should be his last game ever for the Leafs. His chance has come and gone.
