The main thing Toronto has improved on this season over last season is their special teams. Their powerplay is godly right now and their penalty killing has been good as well.

Campbell is having a rough stretch this month, I've been very easy on him for weeks, just hope he can find his game again. It does serve better that his contract will keep going down as his numbers continue to plummet like they have been. I love him though, great attitude, good goaltender, but I think he's in his own head right now. He gets too down on himself, you can see it post-game interviews.

Mrazek should get the next start regardless. Don't keep forcing Campbell in there 3-4 games in a row and keeping Mrazek from getting back into a rhythm. I'm not a huge fan of Mrazek's overall game, but he's on my favorite team, so I'll root for him to always do well regardless of that.

Leafs dominated, but Gibson was the only reason the Ducks were even in this game. The only reason.

Leafs are a good team. You can put names in a hat, make lines by pulling them out one by one and there's a good chance that random assortment owns possession, xGF all that good stuff.

The big boys won this game on the PP so jury is still out if these lines are optimal 5 on 5. I still think Matthews/Nylander Kampf/Kase will score more 5 on 5 than the current line 1 / line 3 setup.

Corsi% was pretty bad for the K-K-N line in a game Leafs dominated possession, so there's that.

Onto game 2 with the new lines for more data.

This one hit different, they didn’t back down their pressure and collapse in the third. They limited the Ducks chances and Anaheim got a lucky tip in front to tie.

Campbell could have made the big save to keep in 3–1 but he was fine otherwise

That was almost the exact same kind of goal Freddie was famous for giving up. Despite the fact they tied it up (on some soft defensive coverage in a dangerous area), I thought the team kept pushing and had a couple chances to take the lead again before the end of regulation. Jack was solid in the shootout.

A win is a win I guess

Despite the domination and the 2 points in the end, blowing these multi-goal leads has become a disconcerting trend for a team whose season must be defined by finding their killer instinct.

Well said just wish we could have got it done in regulation to save us fans the stress lol

With a B2B coming up against Jersey they should give Campbell the next 2 games.

Dominant performance, our skaters looked like a million dollars

Gibson played one hell of a game though, the was quality goaltending start to finish

Campbell needs a reset, he's starting to struggle and people talking about 6M are well out over their skis

Mrazek needs to play some more

I’d say the 3-2 goal was more like Freddy… couldn’t come up with that big save to keep the momentum going.

that tying goal was a tough deflection right in front of him

He wasn’t spectacular tonight but he didn’t need to be given how well the leafs defended

I didn’t really love the game. We were strong in ways we should be strong and weak in places where we have been weak. So from that perspective it doesn’t feel like we’re back to the November December level which is where I want to see this team.

Other than that Campbell’s been real leaky but hopefully he can build up some more confidence.

Man, sometimes I wonder if I watched the same game as other people. I thought that one was about as dominant as any game they've played.

Jack has had a rough stretch but is a winner. Even when he got completely outshined he managed to get the last stop. Like the anti Freddie as a leaf.

2 points in the bank. Keep jack number down. Win win.

Go watch a good Florida or Colorado game and see how they obliterate teams run up the score and skate then into the ice. They just go full throttle.

Every single goalie has inconsistencies; I'd say he's still much more consistent than most & he'll make the timely saves to win.

I agree but with Campbell this has been his lifelong battle. He doesn't seem mentally strong to shake off a bad stretch

Yea, that was the one I meant.. for sure the 3-2 goal was a Fred-red-light-special.
