Tavares... my eyes hurt watching him play

What the blue hell are you talking about? Tavares was excellent tonight, obviously he needs to start putting up some points but his overall game was excellent. Watch the Marner powerplay goal again.......Tavares wins the faceoff and battles his ass off in front of the net while the other 3 can play catch, passing through the seem until they were able to burry one.

He once again allowed more goals than expected and was saved by the video coach from allowing another softie.

Tavares... my eyes hurt watching him play

I thought Tavares had a pretty strong game. Had a number of chances to score, so that alone is a turn for the better. He was NOT turning the puck over and was actually winning battles in the defensive zone (especially in the 3rd). Considering where he was over the past week +, this was a gigantic step forward. Now, he needs to build on it.

Yeah I don't know why certain posters keep crying about him. Dude came into the season as a 3rd stringer and has posted .920 with a top 10 Goals Saved Above Expected

Yes, he's due for more bad games and goals. He won't stay .920+. But he has already done a great job holding the fort until Woll returns. And who knows....could still keep the starting job.

It has more to do with who is responsible for brining him into the organization (or should I say who isn't responsible for signing him), don't let them fool you.....if they were Leaf fans that ended around 2018 when the new era was ushered in.

He gives us a chance to win every night. I don't really care about save percentage, goals against, expected save, wins; at this point all i care about is him giving us a chance to win and he does it on a nightly basis.

We'll see how righted the ship is come the weekend. We just beat the worst team we will face before the all-star break. Not that it wasn't an important win.
