Post-Game Talk: Leafs win Game 4!

When foligno and tavares come back do U make them a third line and leave this line alone with Willy kerfoot gally

It's an interesting decision for sure.. I'd leave that line alone, for as long as it's working.

Kerfoot 5 points in 4 games > McDavid 4 points in 4 games. > Habs 4 goals total in 4 games.

How so? They had a good run of games together.
Started by saying they've had a lot of different linemates lately, then add on the fact Brooks likely doesn't play next game. Could just be me reading too much into it.

Feel like Thornton basically said to Keefe he wants to play with Brooksie. Was at least a nice shoutout for the kid, but if we are all being honest that line has played best this season when he was playing with them.

I saw a comment that Brooks was nervous about his first playoff game in the GDT, then I see him grinning ear to ear in the penalty box. Yeah, I don't think so.
He was very timid in the first, but seemed to get more comfortable as the game went on

game1- loss due to shell shock

game 2 -subtle domination

game 3 - a nail biter

game 4 - foot thoroughly placed on throat

game 5 step down hard

great game. everyone gets stoked when the greybeards get goals

we pushed back and they folded.

willzilla again. guy might have found his next gear

our defensive sacrifices have come a lonnnnng way

and jack what can we say . dude has given us calm in the crease not seen since the cujo days

Montreal really rolled over in the 3rd period. They looked pretty done. Would've thought we'd see more pushback.

The crazy thing is Hyman and Matthews haven't even gotten going yet.

Marner was a bit better but Hyman is absolutely killing that line right now, plays dying on his stick. Look at his empty net miss if you need an idea of the confidence in his offensive game right now.

Good thing for us the depth is coming through

The way they were buzzing in this game, I think it's going to start going in for them soon. Personally, I think the big issue with the top line is Hyman; he's not quite there yet, and it seems to be throwing things off.
That cant be the excuse when the other two guys are making ~$22m/yr. Lets face it, the habs suck and have no business being in the playoffs. They can stay off the board for now without issue but we need them rolling if we are going to go far. As good as campbell has been i dont think the has been tested very much

Really nice win. We played a good professional game and our 2nd line came through again.
Jack wasn't tested but didn't give the momentum away with soft goals. Good overall performance by the team. Lets finish this on Thursday.

Kerfoot has carved himself out a really nice role within this team. Highly versatile. Defensively responsible. Can chip in the odd goal and drives the play offensively. He's been criminally underrated - even by myself at times. I don't know that I like Kadri better as a player, if I'm being honest today.

Great games by Nylander, Kerfoot, Gally, Spezza and Marner but I want to shout out to Muzz, Brodie, Holl and especially Bogo.
They hardly ever get a mention and they're why there is only 4 goals against in 4 games.....well...there's Campbell but that goes without saying.
