Don't understand why the Jets get such a pass when they've been at least on par with us as the biggest playoff chokers for the last 6 seasons. Hell, they may have actually been worse.

Rebuild started at basically the same time. Same number of series wins since 2018/19 (1, lol). They even missed the playoffs completely in 2022. At least we have the excuse of trying to fight our way out of the toughest division in hockey every year.

They should thank us for taking all the heat from the media and trolls.

They don’t have a bunch of superstars while they flop

A lot of people think Lou is a wise hockey man, not only Dubas.
He has a decent bacc end Lou just still thinks it’s the 90s and he’s running the devils it’s a different league with way more skill and way less of a tough guys sport

Dude... they have arguably the best goalie in the league. That's probably the most important thing a playoff team can have.

Wheeler (before he aged out), Scheifele, Laine, Connor, Morrisey, and Ehlers were all part of their playoff teams. Many of these guys have been compared to our top players for years.

Only Connor morrisey and I guess scheifele were ever considered elite laine too but he’s been gone for what seems like forever and your right about helli but they don’t have a core 4 making over 45 mil

Wheeler was definitely elite in his late prime. 90 point guy who lead the team in scoring from 2017-2020 by a significant margin. After that he was still a strong ppg, 2-way player. Ehlers has always been borderline, but so was Nylander before he broke out in the last couple of years. He's also had pretty significant injury troubles throughout his career.

I get your point about our cap allocation brining more attention to our failure, but shouldn't that give the Jets even less of an excuse to suck as much as us in the playoffs?

For sure they were better constructed and still lost but we’re in the Mecca of hoccey with more polarizing players unfortunately

I was pumping a Pacioretty signing all summer as a good pick-up. He's been pretty good and probably shouldn't come out anymore. Strong on the forecheck and still has a good knack of being good around the offensive net.

I thought the Leafs dominated this game 5 on 5. Jets just feasted on any sort of man advantage. Leafs need to figure out their special teams because it will be a big issue in these kind of games. They will never get PP advantages.

It's kind of odd that a team who dominates 5 v 5 is the team who gets 2 times the amount penalties, eh? For some reason, the refs figured the Leafs are suddenly the dirtiest team in the NHL, eh?

Corrupt league and refs.

If they were the dirtiest they’d be leading in majors, double minors, and misconducts, without checking I’d wager most of our penalties are minors off guys getting beat defensively.
