He's here to get some exposure at this level. He's playing on a decently talented fourth line. In a tight game with a lot of special teams, he won't get a lot of minutes. It's fine.
He's being set up to fail as far as I see it. He should be in the top 9 or stay in the AHL. I'd prefer he be in the top 6. It's not as if the Tavares/Nylander duo was lighting the world on fire. Seemed like the perfect chance to put Robertson on that line.

I'll legit get upset at Keefe.

It's time to smarten up and recognize that combo for what it is.

Moving one of Kase or Kerf to the Spezza line shouldn't be forbidden, and it'll make that line better too anyways.
Tough to play an all RH fourth line, but I don't mind Kerf there.

Mrazek was good enough. Three goals against on 33 shots really isn't too, too bad. Two of those goals, likely no goalie is ever expected to save. You could maybe make a case on the 3rd goal, but that was a howitzer from close in, right into the corner. All that said, I totally agree that Mrazek doesn't inspire confidence as he's like a poor mans...no, make that a broke mans, Dominik Hasek with that scrambling style.

Robertson gets a A+ for effort and made a couple of nice plays to strip pucks in the game. Offensively, I think he almost needs to resist the urge to be the first man in on every forecheck. As a little guy with a big shot you almost want to see him sneak into a scoring area and wait for a pass to rip it. When he's too much of a dog on a bone it helps disrupt but he doesn't get the puck clean and he doesn't have great acceleration, so he'll have to pick his spots.
He certainly needs to pick his spots. But, I think he could be a Debrincat, and he needs his chances with the puck. He's not going to get chances on the 4th line. It's a waste.

Mrazek kind of gave us some classic 80s goaltending tonight. Some heroics here and there, some close calls, gave up the lead but battled enough to get the win. I don't want to say "Grant Fuhr" but that's kind of the way those back and forth games used to be.

Sure but can they do it in a 7 game series. I doubt it.

Hence my reasoning for.wanting more players with size and toughness.

Now is the time. If they shore up that weakness and Muzzin returns healthy, this Leafs team can become one to reckon with.

Tough D and never backing down will equate to a deep playoff run. They need more of the right horses to make life miserable for other teams.

I'm glad the boys got that "2-4-1" routine out of the way (again), now lets make it 4 straight by beating the Sabres. The boys better learn how to consistently beat bottom teams cause we have lots of those coming (5 out of the next 6 with the Canucks being that good team), time to pad the stats Matthews, who surprisingly did not get a point tonight.

I don't know if he can be DeBrincat exactly. DeBrincat has a very Kerfoot-like ability to handle the puck at speed with a lot of precision. Robertson hasn't yet shown the ability to be that primary puck carrier in the very short time he's been up at the NHL level, so we'll have to see if that emerges.

But he should be put in a position to show what he can do. He's not in the NHL to show his 2-way game, he's here to show his offensive ability.
He’s not going to play if he doesn’t have a two way game

Mrazek deserves to start the next game. Lets get someone on a roll here.
We felt like it was a guarantee he played last game and it never happened.

If Campbell is in net next game too, have to start considering Keefe is playing a negative role.

Well my 2 goal prediction for Tavares was off, but he picked up 2 major assists. Showed up big time tonight, that should gave him a major confidence boost. Holl with another gorgeous play on that Sandin goal, we have shit on him relentlessly this year but he has been very good this past month or so. Marner is just on another level right now, I dont know what he ate or drank or what but just keep doing it. Refs sucked ass, two horrible tripping calls but still got the W.

Rebound control was little better tonight, maybe he just needs a string of games to tighten up his play
