Lose games you should probably win. Win games you should probably lose.

Overall, quality win against a good team :) Good bounce back game after a very poor showing vs. the Nucks.

Holl with a great pass on the tying goal but on for all 3 against. Rough night for him and Holmberg.

Call up McMann.
Holl is often a mixed bag. This was a decent game for him IMO, but yeah, there are always some rough spots. Playing him over Lily makes no sense to me, Lily is just better in pretty much every way imaginable - puck skills, skating, offensive instincts, defensive positioning, overall offensive impact, overall defensive impact, etc. Holl is a bit better on the PK, maybe a hair better at shot blocking, but that's about it for me - Lily is clearly the better player IMO. Holl vs. Schenn is more debatable, similar level players with different pros/cons.

So far Keefe has been experimenting with benching either Lily or Schenn, but IMO he should really be experimenting with benching either Holl or Schenn. For me, when we're healthy, Rielly, Brodie, Lily, Gio and McCabe should always play, the only question should be Holl or Schenn for the final spot. Probably depends on the opponent - play Schenn when we think we need physicality, Holl when we think we need mobility (not that he's overly mobile, but he is more mobile than Schenn).

kerfoot and holl were still shit lmao

I have been ragging on Holl for a bit, but he made a beautiful pass on Bunting's goal. When he plays simple hockey he is effective.

This team is f***ing frustrating to watch though. Sometimes they look amateurish in their own end. Just play simple and structured hockey (see November - December).

I was told the Leafs were going to get run out of the building?

Samsonov held them in the first few minutes. Big guys made their plays by the end of the night.

Holl with a nice pass on the Bunting goal. Can't believe ref was not going to call a hook with 2 guys catching a free ride on Kampf?? Great pass by Kampf to Bunting. And Matty seals the deal with the patented snipe.

Also, is it just me or are the Devils not that good defensively? Like I know their advanced stats are great but I feel like it's primarily due to their ability to dominate possession and spend time in the offensive zone

There was lots of free ice and very open for us to make plays when we were trailing
They've been letting in 4 goals a game it seems the last like 4 games I believe and maybe even longer. Seems like they have to outscore their problems.

Didn't play perfectly but got goaltending, scored timely goals, and closed it down in the last few minutes when it mattered.

Now just find a way to evaporate Kerfoot off the earth and I'm liking our odds

He just needs to practice one thing. Shoot puck into net.

Character win. Top guys showed up after the Vancouver game. All this game showed is Leafs biggest problem is themselves. All mental for these guys.
They can beat any team when they are in it.
Big credit to Samsanov. He stole the 1st period.
McCabe has been excellent too. Better then expected

When we get a late PP that leads to the game winner is that still game management or is it only when we are assessed a penalty?
