He’s right though lily was an absolute ball drop blame the coach for that Timmins has to get paid as an rfa if you actually watch him he’s not really good he competes which is Berubes favourite attribute in a player(can’t blame him for wanting that)but when he doesn’t keep it simple you can see the type of player he is and the playoffs is a different animal well shall see though

Timmins might get better with more reps.

I'd say he's okay, but to me he plays on the precipice of mistake, but as a third pairing defender he's fine.

From the first evaluation from Berube you knew he didn't like Liljegren, and Liljegren probably got that loud and clear.

Good deal for player and team.

Was just looking at some goals against numbers for defence pairings and was pretty shocked to see the Benoit - Timmins pairing has only been on the ice for two goals against at 5v5 (200+ minutes played).

I went and compared that to other top teams third pairings and that Leafs number looks extremely impressive.

Now not all these pairings are deployed similarly (zone starts, quality of competition etc) so more context would be needed but it shows that this Benoit-Timmins pairing has been doing a good job of not getting scored on at even strength.

They've been excellent. Not sure how you could get better value than they've given.

Good view?
Same seats that he’s given me for the Raptors, Scotia Club. Picture makes it look further.

Not a great game again, but Chicago is just a mess. They look so disjointed and can't seem to string anything together. Certainly did not miss Bertuzzi. Dodged a bullet there.
Really good to see Stolarz get back on track and have a great game. Hope Matthews getting on the scoresheet gets him going. Nice to extend our lead in the Atlantic.
Really want Holmberg out of the top 6. Time to try something else. Also hope to see Reaves waived tomorrow, now that his suspension is over.

Also nice to see Minten continue to find ways to produce. He doesn't really seem quite ready, but it's hard to ignore the production.
Sarcasm missed, setup missed... bait, hook, reel them in. It's just straight up hilarious.
It's hilarious, but not for the reason you think. I realize you were baiting. But in an attempt to insult others, you undermined your entire argument, and insulted yourself.

Marner is one hell of an amazing player. He just needs to figure out how to bring that level of play in the playoffs... we have a few guys like that, Matthews too. Just relax and play your game, you'll be fine. Weirdly, I think this year they might figure it out... and much of that will be Berube.
Luke Fox was asked what’s different this year and he mentioned Berube being more relaxed than Keefe. Wasn’t a criticism but he said Keefe was “wound so tight”, that trickled down to the room whereas Berube is more balanced and doesn’t get worked up as easily.

Too boring a game, had to bail after the first, but it was nice to see Benoit paste TJ Brodie, that made watching the first period salvageable. Moved on to watching Landman, it’s going to be another great show from Taylor Sheridan……..

Landman is on my list of shows to watch, thought I'd wait until the season's over. I just discovered a show that I'd never heard of before (Goliath, also with Billy Bob), gonna try that first!

Minten what is his potential now
I think we are going to have an incredible smart play he is like a sponge.
Berube just loves this player , I don’t think he is going back to the marlies he is to good.

Grebs I don't ink he is going back to the marlies another smart player, didn't know English a yr ago crazy.

Goliath us a great show, and I get waiting for the whole season to be out before watching, but at my age waiting isn’t a wise choice, tomorrow’s promised to no one. Another shiw worth watching is SAS Rouge Heroes, first season has been out for a while, I’m eagerly awaiting season two……..

Grebenkin is a beauty. Just bowls over a guy with 5 seconds left in the game for no reason lol. That used to be us getting punked, now we’re the bully
I would honestly love him on our 4th line in the playoffs, feel like he's the one who's going to make some really nasty momentum building hits for us. He's also making some nice offensive plays even if he hasn't notched a point yet. You can tell he likes the spotlight and I think he'd be really motivated to try and make something happen in the big moments.

Does anyone like the Black Jerseys? I don't usually care about such things but find the numbers very hard to make out, particularly live.

Leafs should always be Blue and White.
Honestly I love them as fan gear, I know my brothers love them too. I think they look really cool in general when someone's wearing them but not so great on the ice.

If you are Billy Bob fan you'll love both. He plays the down on his luck, smarter than you loser, glib boozer so well. Both shows really highlight his character acting abilities.

Might not have a choice but to send them down. It becomes a numbers game. Unless Tree has plans to Tonya Harding a few of the players coming back from IR, they will both go down.

I watched half of the first episode.. it looks good.

I like the Black Jerseys, I think they look good... as something for a fan to wear. As a game jersey, as you say, too hard to read.

I am not as complimentary on Treliving and Berube.
OEL is fading fast. Terrible signing. Lily is playing great, Berube blew this one. I don't think Berube is a godsend. Goaltending and Tanev have helped GA.
The rest is a lot of luck and things panning out. Stolarz playing great, but Woll is healthy too for now. Minten a good draft pick by former staff.
Tanev turned out great, for now. In 5 years I guess he can be dealt with.
Don't worry, the knuckleheads in charge will send Minten and Greybenkin down and play scrubs like Kampf and Reeves.
Reeves doesn't belong in the nhl. Kampf contract sigend by Treliving is an absolute joke and an albatross that will take picks to get out of.
I disagree on a few things here:

I don't think Liljegren playing good on the sharks should mean Berube blew it. I have a couple of reasons for that:
1) It's the sharks, playing well on a bad team shouldn't be the standard. He couldn't crack our lineup and not many teams probably wanted it
2) His issue is consistency, he has very low low points and it hasn't even been 20 games on the new team, I'd say give it some time before saying we "blew it"
3) Liljegren was a non-option come playoff time, he was soft, timid, and just passed problems on to his teammates with shit passes. He brought no offence and was a beacon to rally behind for the other team after he gets knocked on his ass for the tenth time. He couldn't play tampa, or florida, or boston.

I also don't think OEL is a terrible signing when he is playing more than liljegren, has the same on ice differential as liljegren (+3), has better relative to team stats, more points, and actually pks 1 minute per game vs 1 minute in 15 games. So he is better than Liljegren in every facet of the game, yet he is terrible and liljegren is amazing? I don't think so.

things panning out are credited to treliving though. I think you gloss over stolarz a little too much, he has been trelivings best signing and has been awesome. He has a .924 and even a healthy woll isn't the defacto starter with how good he has been.

Maybe I look at it from a different view point than you, but IDGAF about 5 years from now, we have this matthews contract left. I used to believe you want to try and build with both future and present in mind, and whilst I still do, I'd much rather mortgage the future to try and make deeps runs vs doing the same thing the previous regime did and remain status quo (first round exits). Even if this means our window closes with no cups a bit early, I'll accept that this is what I wanted and won't complain that management tried going for it.

Some stuff I do agree with though is Reaves, Minten and Kampf. Minten especially since I thought he was a long-shot with his awful production in the WHL last season. Thought he could be the david kampf 4C replacement, starting to think maybe there's more to him. Reaves is awful, but he has found a way to be a 0 through his games, so at least he isn't costing us as much as last year. Kampf could've been replaced by dewar or holmberg, but I guess we really liked what we saw. I think you could probably get out of him fairly easy but we probably like him a lot so we will keep him around.

Really like the game, structured and very boring, which is what this team needs.

Can pick on moments here and there that can be better but overall, it is one of those games that good teams will fall for it coming home from a road trip playing against one of the worst teams in the league.

The goal was catching a mistake from the Hawks with great finishing.
Second goal was a lucky bounce but Holmberg was buzzing in front of the net and JT shot it instead of passing it back.
3rd goal was generated out of nothing, which is the type of goals that you see happens in the playoffs.
4th goal was just hustle by Knies for beating icing
The best part, it felt like we were in control of this game with no threat of losing. Great goaltending, good defence, and a solid defensive mindset will do that. Add the elite offensive players with the ability to score at any time and we have a team that’s won 9 out of the past 11 games.

Benoit is a fantastic 3rd paring dman. Proper Treliving guy.
