It will be reviewed and there will probably be a fine, no suspension.People trying to pretend it was different than the Reeves hit? It was worse. He used his elbow and had intent to injure. The league is a joke.

If the league already reviewed it and didn't think it was a penalty, how could they now turn around and say it's worthy of discipline? It will be reviewed and there will probably be a fine, no suspension.
What is the D supposed to do? Should have been a penalty for hitting the head, but it was a hockey hit.
Same situation with Reaves, there’s no intent to hit the head and both injured players had their heads down.
I think that there will be more eyes looking at the hit and they'll realize there mistake. If they're trying to reduce head shots, they'll have to use these hits as an example. This hit was worse than Reeves because he jumped and appeared to intent to injure. If the league already reviewed it and didn't think it was a penalty, how could they now turn around and say it's worthy of discipline?
Has this ever happened before?
No doubt there’s inconsistency.I only ask for consistency. I do think Whitecloud jumped into the hit though.
But he didn’t jump. You have eliminate that from the conversation.I think that there will be more eyes looking at the hit and they'll realize there mistake. I don't think he was head hunting at all, just a big hit. Pretty hard to go at that speed and not catch the guys head when he's got it down and leading with it.I think that there will be more eyes looking at the hit and they'll realize there mistake. When it happens in the NFL the offending player isn't upright when making the hit, big difference. On the hit, if this was the NFL that player would have been kicked out of the game. I saw him leading his shoulder to the head with some lift off his skates. He targeted his head in my opinion. This was worse than the NFL Detroit Lions Bryan Branch hit that got him ejected against Green Bay.
Hopefully we keep a copy handy and if ever we have a player get disciplined for a similar hit, we can ask why?Oh, I'm sure you're right that they won't look at this at all at the DoPS.
I thought tonight may have been Benoit's best game in a long time. Really nice to see from him.
He also seemed oddly confident with the puck last night, which was a refreshing sight.Really like his no non-sense approach to game
Missed the first 2 periods, but they really poured it on in the 3rd.
Nice to see the young guys contribute. Would be nice to have them stay and jettison the dead weight (Robertson, Reaves, Holmberg)
The difference I see was he exploded through the hit and left his feet. Whether that was the time of impact or not. That in itself is head hunting. Don’t think he was trying to do that but that was the outcome. Point of contact was the head.I don't think he was head hunting at all, just a big hit. Reaves was unfortunate in that it was more glancing. I don't think he was trying to headhunt either.
Only if you are targeting high. Primary contact was the chin and he was moving up from there. Clearly illegalCould be my eyesight but just watched the hit again and it didn't look like he came off his feet until after contact was made which is normally for a high speed collision.
The way Knies was skating it was impossible not to hit his head, IMO. I don't think you could hit someone at that speed and not have it take you off balance(leave your feet). The difference I see was he exploded through the hit and left his feet. He kept his arms down. How could he hit the player in that instance and not have it hit him in the chin?Only if you are targeting high. Primary contact was the chin and he was moving up from there. Clearly illegal
