Post-Game Talk: Leafs win 3-0 with a huge effort

"We have more then enough evidence this mix is not a serious winning group"
What would this evidence be. This group includes the core 5 PLUS Berube, Tanev, OEL, Hakanpaa, McCabe, Woll, Stolarz, Knies, McMann, Domi...maybe even Minten and Grebenkin matter.

Exactly where I'm at. I'm too disgusted to watch. It's flagrant and Leaf management acts like they don't see it.The NHL is rigged. The fact that NHL insiders do nothing about it speaks volumes.. it's theft. Someone should sue the league. To me it's a crime. But I'm not stupid enough to pay.
Last Canadian Stanley winner happened the very year Bettman was made President...hmmm

It’s not like Canadian teams haven’t had success though

Flames
Oilers x 2
Sens
Habs
Canucks

All been to the finals and most of those were game 7’s. All it took was one team to win and that streak is broken. It was extremely close

Leafs tax is real. Parros is a joke. NHL is almost as bad with the DOPS double standards.

Countless Examples...

-Kadri in playoffs gets 5 game series suspension in similar plays only getting 1 game
-Lady Bing Matthews gets one game for a ghost play
-Reilly cross check to shoulder slides up into player is an extra 2 games than comparable.
-Mccabe fined 5000$ for a nothing play we see night in night out
-OEL with a simple backcheck. Fined. Another player... Nothing.
-Tonight was literally the Reaves play. 5 Games vs NONE.

F*** OFF

But Parros and DOPS have sticky drizzle from Bettman's joie de vivre.

Wipe your Mouth Parros. Left some there bud.
Parros had nothing to do with the hit last night.

Minten Greb great game
Dewar really took notice of him

Robertson nothing

The rest of the players great game love how they stuck together as a team.
Woll great game
Knies hope you are ok

If Dion had thrown the Whitecloud hit I would have loved it, but Whitecloud did leave his feet, and the rules today are if the primary point of contact is the head and you jump, its a penalty and probably a suspension.

I don't expect that interpretation in this case, the league will ignore, or give him a very small fine.

But if I wanted to be a conspiracy theorist: The Flames actually won that series late in Game 6 and got completely jobbed on a missed call,

Dunno if that factors into it. But in every possible way, this hit was at least as bad as the Reaves hit. They either care about player safety or they don't.

Think the big difference was Whitecloud came at him directly while Reaves was more glancing.
I thought it was a good old time hit but can also see the inconsistency.
Hopefully Knies is ok, he'll learn from that.

I don't see how they can review and say it was a good hit and then review again later and give a suspension. That would be a real bad look.

Funny how any head contact by a Leaf is a penalty and NOT a penalty when done to a Leaf.

That hit on Knies was a 'hockey hit' like 10 or more years ago, however now, any contact to a players head is suppose to be a no-no and illegal !!!

Primary contact was definitely made to Knies head. Also, that Whitecloud f*** head jumped into the hit to make it more effective.

Once again, the NHL and their Refs are not afraid to show their obvious anti-Leaf bias. Sure, the Refs missed a hit from behind made by a Leaf, however that's no excuse to approve of that Whitecloud shit !!!

JMHO.

Oh, I'm sure you're right that they won't look at this at all at the DoPS.

Nice to see Berube throng some serious love to Benoit post game, he was outstanding. Moved the puck really well too, quite assertive. Should stick next game.
He was good.

With the busy schedule next month it would be nice if they could avoid injuries and rotate Hakanpaa by giving others a rest, and not always sit Benoit.

Dunno if that factors into it. But in every possible way, this hit was at least as bad as the Reaves hit. They either care about player safety or they don't. The second video below shows how badly Whitecloud jumped into and targeted the head.

What is the D supposed to do? Should have been a penalty for hitting the head, but it was a hockey hit.

Same situation with Reaves, there’s no intent to hit the head and both injured players had their heads down.

Clearly the big stories from this game are the Knies injury and the first games for Minten and Grebyonkin.

But I'd say Woll isn't getting enough credit for this one. No 10-bell saves were made, but that's because none were needed. Perfect calm performance, and a well deserved shutout. This was a game that could have been a negative turning point for the whole season if a stinker goal or two got in during the 2nd period. But Woll made sure the better team won, and now the group can move forward knowing they're OK even when the injury bug hits.

Solid goaltending is so important in this league, and we haven't had results you can count on like this since prime Freddy Andersen.

Great game, huge effort from the team to step up and battle hard for each other.

Really impressed by Minten and Grebenkin, Holmberg had a terrific game (even though he's not very good and falls down a lot), and Benoit was also noticeable in a great way. I'll go against the grain a little bit on Woll, he played quite well but was dropping a lot of rebounds about five feet out from the crease. Our D were absolutely fantastic at clearing away the second chances, one of the rare games (in our case) where the goalie owes the skaters tons of credit for the shutout.

We're very much in the November hot streak. Remember this fondly during the December skid and the February doldrums.

Hope Knies is okay. He's been having an outstanding season. There won't be any supplemental discipline, it was a clean hit. (Yes the DoPS hates us)
