One of the most complete games this season.

The team played fast and finished checks

Great games by Tavares, Woll, Nylander, and Tanev.

Special mention for the incredible first games for Minten and Grebenkin. They are NHL players who should be given a long leash before they go back down.

The team is playing Berube hockey.

Btw, the Leafs have not had a defenceman like Tanev in the Matthews era. So poised. So cool. So efficient. A beast.

had to switch to the laptop because phone was dead, but the team earned a laptop post lol

Where to even start, I only didn't like robertson's and timmins's games 100%. They still had their moments, robertson set up mccabe and timmins was still ok, but they made some boneheaded plays but it didn't cost them so whatever

On to the good stuff:

Joseph freaking Woll, dude was sharp as a tack and dialed tf in. He made save after save and kept us in it during that BS second period. Quick f*** you to the refs and that defender for "staying grounded" by levitating 6 inches up. Woll was spectacular

D was on point, countless times they broke up dangerous plays or cleared the puck. Huge shoutout to Benoit, who had his best game of the season easily. Great D, decent transition, stood up for his teammate and even showed some offence lol. D as a whole was elite and was nice seeing them clearing every rebound and blacking 329520935 shots.

It's been so long that I forgot bottom six's could look like that. Fast, purposeful, ferocious, and also dangerously skilled. Solid game for steeves and holmberg, Lorentz took like 4 shots to the shins. The wonder kids were just spectacular, Minten I though looked good, but Grebyenkin was in his own tier. Dude didn't just look like an nhler, he looked like a seasoned top 6 player out there. Set up a ton, played defence a bit, skated hard, hit hard, and forechecked. He's earned a stint for a while

Tavares with one of his most balanced outings, he was good offensively but he has done that before, but his defence was a master class. Pucks were out, smart plays were made, skating was used right. Loved the tackle

Marner was a 2 way beast. Elite on the PK, great on 5 on 5, and was purposeful on the PP. He generated, was a bit chippy and also helped on the scoresheet. That's the type of game I imagine when I think of a true 2 way superstar, dominating all facets

Nylander looked like the most dangerous player on the ice. He damn well turned into Mcdavid or Kucherov in that third period with how many chances he set up or had. He needs to keep up this intensity a bit more consistently and definitely bring it for the playoffs.

One more f*** you to the refs before I end this TED talk rant.

Robertson is a nightmare out there. Small and slow out there, getting overpowered and at max work capacity just to make routine things happen. He doesn’t have a spot.

And he's just not producing offensively to overcome those shortcomings.

He sure looks snakebite at times but it's tough to watch him struggle like this.

That giveaway late in the third might see him in the press box next game

Leafs win!!! Love it!

I'm at work so I missed the game. I did see that aweful hit on Knies. How the fug is that not a match penalty!?

Hopefully Knies recovers quickly.

That Minten kid's a beauty, isn't he? Keep him up with the big boys, please.

On to the next one.

Go Leafs Go!!

Hellofagame. Stuck together, defended each other, Nylander, Tavares, Marner were f***ing heroic, Tavares even almost beat a guy up. Benoit had a hell of a game. Sucks about Knies, only negative in the game. How about those rookies. Love their jam. Minten with his first. Lorenz blocking everything, D core was solid. Woll with a great game, dug in during the PK and full marks for the shutout. This one will stick in the memory bank for a while.

I know Reaves hasn't been fighting much of late but does anyone think it was a coincidence that his first game out for the suspension a top player on the Leafs is hit with gusto in the Leafs building?

Guys let up when they believe there may be consequences for taking liberties on players.

I am hoping Knies will be alright. He didn't look too dazed after the hit (which, FWIW, I think was the right call from the officials, even if Whitecloud is still a scumbag in how he exploded upwards like that). A lot of positives to draw from tonight otherwise.

An exceptional effort from a depleted lineup, especially on the defensive side. Vegas is one of NHL's best teams at coming back from deficits, so keeping the third period as quiet as we did is a real achievement.

Minten with his first NHL goal, obviously, but Grebenkin was the more noticeable of the two. He's very raw, there were some defensive miscues and that hit on Theodore was reckless, but he looks like another top 6 power forward in the making.

I thought both Lorentz and Benoit had fantastic games tonight. He's had an up-and-down year, especially taking too many penalties, but Benoit at his best is better than Hakaanpa, IMHO.

And, of course, Vegas ran into the Brick Woll tonight.

Prediction: Grebenkin starts game 1 of the playoffs. Reminds me of Knies but rougher + not as good of a skater
