Leafs played a very well rounded gutsy game. The young players played well and the depth grinders made some good plays. Lorentz, Dewar, Benoit and Woll for me stood out. Lorentz had 4-5 big blocks. Holmberg also played one of his better games. Greb played with a lot of passion and Minten was solid.

Knies injured is a big blow though.

the 2 rookies both played fantastic 1st games (i know its not mintens 1st).

very impresed by them. add cowan to the mix and suddenly we have fresh hungry young blood. if they all make the team last year the team should be noticiably faster imo

That was a great team win.
It had a playoff intensity and so many players had strong games.
Woll was very good and held it together when we were getting outplayed.
Nylander, Marner, Tavares, Greb, Minten, Benoit, Lorentz, Steeves, OEL, McCabe all played well.
I really like the way we're moving the puck as a 5 man unit, just tons of short, smart little passes and nothing too high risk.
More North- South hockey and less messing around with the puck in dangerous areas of the ice.

Man they battled and grinded that one. Just mucked up the open ice and kept it to the outside .. Marner and JT were great but Nylander put the team on his back tonight.

Congrats to Minten .. nice debut with the GWG tonight!

Greb looks awesome. Some slick puck skills, his compete is great, and he loves to be physical. What a toolkit. Him and Knies in the top 9? Sweeeeet.

Woll - what a game. Especially after the Knies thing, he came up huge to shut down Vegas' PP's

Timid 2nd defending a lead but they came out with a great strong 3rd period and the power play came through when they needed.
