Also keep in mind Florida is on the second of a back to back, and were pretty even with Toronto, which isn't great... But on the other hand we were on a back to back vs Pittsburgh and faded a bit and we're not letting them off the hook for that...

So I guess you just take the 2 points but in the back of your mind accept that this may or may not be a year to invest draft capital, emotional investment, etc.

It doesn't have to be explained to me. I'm pointing out the ridiculousness of people complaining about a win. The league gives you two points even if it's in a shootout. Yes, Florida gets one point, but based on my math, two is better than one.

Florida needs to do some soul searching about why they “dominate teams” but get goalied like they did tonight apparently. Something something perimeter play, lazy, etc.

I thought the Leafs approach to the 1st minute of OT would be a pretty interesting psychological tell. Do they go for the win before they fall behind or just kind of drag ass as usual. Drag ass it was.

Florida dominated the leafs so f***ing badly in most of the first period that it just lingered the whole game. All in all though I think the team did adjust and pull their heads out of their ass and competed and looked okay for some of it. That Florida forecheck is the best in the league and it just eats the leafs up if they aren’t ready for it at every moment of the game.
