Brodie-Muzzin has the potential to be a top 10 pairing in the league. Hopefully they start playing upto expectations.

Good riddance on Holl. They care about keeping their jobs after all.

if you protected McCann, then Seattle would have taken Dermott, not Holl.

Dermott was third best defender on the team behind Rielly and Muzzin before the horrible shoulder injury. Never been the same since.

Let's hope he can regain that form. He's been really good this season. Flawless on odd man rushes. If we give up a 2 on 1 I cross my fingers Dermott is the defender.

I hope it remains a wonder and never becomes reality lol. Holl is terrible; has no offensive instincts, defensively his positioning is a joke and he doesnt even clear the crease just does stick lifts. For a big guy he is so freakin' soft

Love the Rielly-Dermott pairing.

After 4 years, hopefully they give Dermott an actual extended look in the top 4. Fully expecting Keefe to revert back to the old pairs even if Dermott has a stellar game.

This season is a perfect opportunity to try out the youth on the backend and give them reps, even if it means growing pains and walking into the playoffs a lower seed.

Some of his better performances as a Leaf have come when he's been elevated in the lineup - normally as a result of a Muzzin injury.

I'm curious to see what we see from him tomorrow.

I'm guessing that Brodie is with Muzzin just because of his foot speed. Maybe he has a nagging leg injury or something. Muzzin has been pinching way too much lately and is getting caught. Holl is an absolute disaster defending 2 on 1s. Nobody is better than Brodie at defending the 2 on 1.

here is hoping.... Matthews was pissed off as well against the hawks here is hoping that gets him going.

Usually I'd rip into dubas and keefe for wasting a protection spot on a dude you are freakin' putting in a pressbox as a healthy scratch

but.... i gotta give props to them for actually scratching holl for sucking ass even if they wasted protection spot on him instead of keep playing him for justifying their decision of protecting holl over mccan

Yeah that game against Chicago Holl looked like he ate a dozen donuts before the game. He was sluggish and seemed completely out of shape. It was bizarre.

I like Holl but this is absolutely the right call.

Hopefully the new pairs breathe some life into the team. That and the offence hopefully starts, the lack of scoring has been a little ridiculous.

The Wings played well.

That's the third game of theirs that I've watched this season - common denominator in all of them? They work DAMN hard, especially some of their bottom 6 guys.

If the Leafs aren't ready to outwork their opponents tomorrow and actually start at puck drop, they'll get embarrassed.

They are catching teams off-guard much like the Leafs team did in 2017
