Same shit different year. Don't expect anything different this time around. Hope I'm wrong, but this team has only shown that theyre losers time and time again.

0-8 in games to close out a series is all you need to f***in know.

Kerfoot needs to bounce back and Nylander can’t stop skating in the third and onwards like he did last night.

I made my first ever sports bet yesterday - 4-2 Toronto. Only $5 bucks though. Never bet anything substantial on this team ever.

Regardless, I don't know if I can take game 7 mentally. Might just watch the third if it's close. But probably when 7:25 rolls around, I'll be in our group therapy thread lol.

Dam!

But yeah, I feel better too. We showed up last night, we have a speed edge, our scorers are scoring, Jack is capable & our D overall is improved. Big boy pants time!

btw - cheezy how some TBay players act to get calls! That's not my kind of hockey.

I wish Sheldon didn’t always take the high road. Mention in the presser “they’ve been there before, they know how to get calls). Plant a seed that the refs falls for it. The Tampa head snaps were outrageous last night

Mostly I'm just in awe at how hockey is a game of variance and chance for 82 games and then in the playoffs it's literally on rails. Point scoring a squeaker was the most unsurprising thing I have ever seen. I was actually surprised to see it, it was so obviously coming. I had even started to hope and then boom, snap back to reality.

It's honestly like a Twilight Zone episode.

I figure this Leafs team will play hard in game 7, they've played hard all series, and they may yet slay the dragon. But ugh, the last thing I want is two more days alone with the demons in their heads.

Game 7 against the B2B Cup champs... In Toronto.... In a packed arena and outside corridor..............

**Cries nervously**

Dubas burned 6.3M this offseason on Mrazek+Ritchie when he could have just re-signed Hyman+added a cheaper tandem option. Why would ownership trust him again heading into another offseason? Even the season before, overpaid way too much for the Foligno rental probably because he was already envisioning round 3 and looking past the "weak" North division. Offseason before that he acquired Tyson Barrie and Cody Ceci to round out a right side that ended up also having rookie Justin Holl. Dubas punted the 2019-20 season altogether just by running that putrid right side.
I agree he‘s made a few head scratchers however, had the team played like they did last night against Montreal, they win that series easily. That‘s the frustrating part of this team.

Yep, nothing matters. You can do everything right but we're still subject to the inherent randomness of it all. Sometimes it's hard not to be nihilistic.

Crazy to think players are judged on how they react and play on the biggest stage, when it really matters. I guess the spreadsheet formulas can’t compute and the non hockey fans can’t figure out what is happening…..someone explain to Dubas.

I have a way better feeling going into game 7 this year than I did last year. Maybe because we'll have a full building and Leafs won't be lifeless like whatever that was vs the Habs

Campbell cannot allow a softie again, though.
Up until last week I had no confidence this team would even compete.

That is all……

Just get out there and do it…

Love to be called a non-hockey fan by mouth-breathers. I am judging the Leafs by how they played (well).

Not sure I can watch game 7 if I’m being honest. Considering taping it, doing something else, then checking the score at the end. Either burn the tape or rewatch it depending on the outcome.

I have a unusual confidence about this one. I think they know they are the better team and can dictate. They're pissed will play angry. JT Included. Refs can't do squat in this one. Soup just has to come through. Bolts will be chasing the game. Leafs win it going away. 4-1.
Refs: Hold my beer...

Haven’t decided what I’m doing yet either. I’ve watched maybe like 25% of the series.

Feels like one of those times where Tampa breaks the back and forth win trend and wins the game.

This group has done nothing to inspire confidence that they can clinch a series going 0-7 or something like that in those opportunities.

You could say “they’re due” but that’s just not how the playoffs work.

You know, maybe justloveleafs is onto something with his theory. Maybe a game 7 win was pre-determined a while back?! That poster fascinates me.
