Can't rely on ref calls to save us.
At this point I'd settle for the refs not f***ing us over every chance they get...

Finally, the last game of the fraudulent Shanahan era.
Yep, then we can watch another interim period by the 87 year old Cliff Fletcher while the board decides who our next GM should be. If we're lucky, it won't be Tie Domi.

Dubas burned 6.3M this offseason on Mrazek+Ritchie when he could have just re-signed Hyman+added a cheaper tandem option. Why would ownership trust him again heading into another offseason? Even the season before, overpaid way too much for the Foligno rental probably because he was already envisioning round 3 and looking past the "weak" North division. Offseason before that he acquired Tyson Barrie and Cody Ceci to round out a right side that ended up also having rookie Justin Holl. Dubas punted the 2019-20 season altogether just by running that putrid right side.
Cannot argue any of those points.

Also though, most franchise wins, points yada yada yada. There are two sides, its not all negative.

Bottom line, if they lose on Saturday... some questions will have to be asked. I find it weird too, we have a board... not an owner... so things get done a little differently it seems.

I have a unusual confidence about this one. I think they know they are the better team and can dictate. They're pissed will play angry. JT Included. Refs can't do squat in this one. Soup just has to come through. Bolts will be chasing the game. Leafs win it going away. 4-1.

Oh boy, I didn't want to have to watch a game on Saturday, but here we are.

The Leafs will win this one. This team is a different animal.

GO LEAFS GO!

No issue with Dubas not signing Hyman (oilers will regret that signing in a few years) but he could have spent that dough on a legitimate top four RD, even if it required a trade. This is the fourth or fifth time hes made that mistake with Riellys partner. The one times he does find a partner in Brodie, Keefe is now forced to play him with Muzzin because Holl is so shit.

anyone else think it would be worth it to try Blackwell in kerfoot's spot? blackwell was buzzing out there.
He was buzzing but did he generate anything at all? It was a lot of stick handling into corner and losing the puck.

I find it hilarious when the default response to "fire Dubas" is assuming that person wants to return to the clownshow Burke/Nonis days. How about some fans want more for this team than just being eliminated in 7 games every year or worse? Would you really rather make it 7 first round losses in a row next year than actually search for a better option than Dubas?
Dubas turned this team into a top 5 team in the league, correcting a lot of lou's mistakes in the process. Has he made mistakes? sure.

But unless you're bringing in an Yzerman type of guy, you can do a hell of a lot worse than Dubas.

Jets fan here, I really think you guys are gonna win game 7 Saturday night. This series reminds me of our series against Nashville in 2018, both great teams, lots of firepower, solid goaltending, each team winning one game then the other team wins the next and vice versa. Just score an early one, keep up the pressure, don't take many penalties and you'll be heading back to Florida to play the Panthers next. Best part will be winning at home Saturday night, hope they keep the bars open till 8am Sunday lol

Leafs can win it but only if they let them

remember, there's money in winning but the Leafs have proved there's more money in losing

This team did show a lot of effort in games five and six, they showed that they wanted to win those games really badly. This loss still left me very very sour because regardless of the effort, the end result is pretty similar through every playoff series in the era of Auston Matthews.

The main differences in this series is that the top four forwards are producing offensively, at different key points, so they’ve done their job in that regard. I wasn’t overly enthusiastic about Mitch Marner’s game last night though, felt he could’ve been much better. The same could absolutely be said for Alexander Kerfoot, just a brain dead giveaway to give Tampa Bay life and the first goal in the first period. I’m also a little upset with his penalty in the third period, but anyone that watched that game and saw the replays knows that it was a phantom high sticking and should’ve never been called, but still pissed me off.

even though the effort was there through most of the game and they absolutely limited Tampa Bay’s chances in the third period and overtime, the same end result still happened, so if you can’t score the fourth goal, then the effort is pretty much meaningless if you don’t have that killer instinct to finish them off. Tampa Bay looked pretty lifeless to me in overtime until the final two minutes, just one mistake and it ends up in the back of our net, it just feels like the same script to me but one year later.

So this loss left me really, really sour, so much so that I will probably miss my first Leafs playoff game in nearly 20 years. Why? Because there’s no need to put myself through that much frustration and heartache in game seven if they don’t get the job done, it’s not worth getting myself stressed over that much. I will check the score at the end of the game, if they win, I will watch the highlights and watch round two.

With that said, I think they have the best ability to finish off Tampa Bay and to win the series because of how the series has gone. Both teams have won one game apiece, let’s see if Toronto can continue that trend, they have home ice, they get their line matchups, if they can’t win this game, then it’s time to make some huge changes, managerial and personnel on the ice. No more excuses.

Man you guys never learn….

Tmrw is gonna be easily our worst game of the series

Everything will fall to shit, Campbell started a game early

If the Maple Leaf Hockey Club wins this game, I expect them to make it to the Cup final.

I’d put the odds of winning the game 7 at 65% or so.

This fan base deserves something good for once. I hate to sound entitled, but year after year we've had to deal with disappointment and during the Shanahan era the team really has done all the right things to win something.

The regular season wins, Auston's back-to-back Rockets, they're all incredible achievements that I don't want to diminish - but this long-suffering fanbase deserves SOME modicum of playoff success.

So get it done Leafs!
