GDT: Leafs vs Red wings my first live game.

In case anyone missed it, this was supposedly about Holl's terrible zone entry that put Matthews offside. While I'd be pissed too, that is better left to the dressing room. And it's the coach who should be berating the player. Now Holl's a healthy scratch. Wouldn't be shocked to see him traded before the end of November. Not a great environment around this team IMO.

Completely disagree.. lilly needs to be like last year's TJ Brodie. The defenceman you don't notice. Be a stalwart on the back end and cover for Sandin's gaffs.

And they use the excuse of "oh the Leafs are shoved down our throats and fans are always saying they are the best team ever".. When is this happening? The fanbase has been so negative and unpassionate for months now after that loss. The media has been dominated by non Leaf news, Olympics coverage, and if they do talk about the team, it's how bad their start has been.

It's just so toxic. Makes me want to never log back in. It's not even discussions anymore, just a circle jerk about how much the Leafs suck. And then you come here, and it's the same shit within our fanbase. It's one thing for us fans to complain and do whatever, but no other team gets the Leafs treatment on here.

TJ Brodie also has offensive capabilities. He’s made some passes and pinches down low. Liljegren isn’t holl or Carlo. He isn’t some 6 foot 4 200 pound shit down defencemen. He needs to be a capable 2 way defensmen who knows what offence is. We can’t afford to develop another dermott. We need to hit on probably both Liljegren and Sandin

He'll have his gaffes but that's to be expected for a guy finally getting games in the NHL. Over time he'll settle that down when he gets more games. He's great at getting it out of their zone quickly. We need guys making crisp passes out of the zone to Jumpstart the forwards. Holl wasn't doing that at all.

It's pretty harsh to healthy scratch a defenseman who, believe it or not, has gotten the 2nd most ice time on the defense this season. This is usually where you drop a player down the lineup first.

Nah. Hold each other accountable, whether it's on or off the ice. Should Matthews have said, "aww that's okay, Hollsy. You'll do better next time."?

Remember Malkin yelling at Kessel during the playoffs? Crosby and Hornqvist going at it? Karlsson in Ottawa?

It's normal stuff.

maybe he will need to make a pilgrimage to arizona in the offseason to wash his feet
 
If Leafs drop this game for whatever reason; they got VGK, Tampa and Boston next week it aint gonna be pretty. So if there ever was a must win game early in the season this has gotta be it

This is a team predicted to be near the bottom of the Leafs bracket, that played last night, so the Leafs need to step up and give them a tuning
