They absolutely 100% should reverse it. Because of the referees error Detroit was not just able to have 6 skaters on the ice, they were allowed to have 6 skaters on the ice with absolutely zero risk of being scored on their now empty net. They review the play to ensure a team doesn't get an unjustified powerplay. By having an erroneous delayed call they gave Detroit an unjustified powerplay. More importantly, they gave them an unjustified powerplay with zero risk of being scored on. Giving a team a portion of the game where they arren't allowed to be scored on is just as, if not more important than a man advantage.

Short handed goals happen all the time, goals against a team with net pulled on a delayed call NEVER get scored on (it's happened like twice in the history of the NHL or something).

Perhaps, but now you're running a fine line between which team you're penalizing for the referee's error. As soon as the extra man gets on the ice you're putting them in a spot where they can't score a legal goal. I didn't see how early the penalty happened and where the extra man was. By treating things this way you're going to start calling back goals where the extra man had no impact whatsoever essentially penalizing a team who scored because they put an extra guy on the ice who had no impact because the refs screwed up.

If you make the refs then have to make a subjective decision on whether the extra player had an impact you're just giving them extra reign to call more goals back. If you give a ref a chance to screw a review up they will.

At what point would teams not pull their goalie for the extra man because of the risk of scoring a goal that gets called back because of a penalty review.

Fairness might dictate it's not fair that Detroit incorrectly got an extra man with no consequences but refs calling back goals in that spot will just never happen

Petr Mrazek is a 3o game backup whose learning a new system. He won't be putting up many game-stealing performances this year.

If his player history teaches us anything he will steal a lot of games but will also cough up a few too. He gets white hot and can look like a hot mess as well.
