I see us putting up a normal amount of xG and our top-6 is playing well as usual. I think your eyes are being fooled by random physicality and the bottom-6 is doing nothing.

Is it also possible that they’re playing a mediocre game tonight but also know how to game the xG stat?

Well I agree to a certain extent, Kampf does have to communicate and pick up on those changes. And also he has to win that back. Samsonov should have had that one, but Kampf should be a little more aware on that draw

It's a freak play. Sure, he should notice Chytil changing his hand, but it's so subtle & quick that I'm willing to let him off here.

No? "Gam[ing] the xG stat" quite literally would mean they're getting chances, which they are.

People just can't handle them losing without blaming it on effort, bad coaching, etc. They're losing, they're playing good, it happens. It's not like we're facing Ottawa, the Rangers are a team that have proven they can win games despite getting outplayed consistently.

I don't think you've been watching the playoffs if this is what you think has lost us games.

For sure it has lost us many games not the sole reason but a big one. The top guys don't feel pressure to just make a simple play to alleviate pressure vs high risk at the worse time.

Look at the Galchenyk OT terrible pass. The simple play throws it back down the wall into their zone vs a high-risk cross-ice pass in OT.

Go look at the Bruins they make the simple play

Alright so your entire example is Alex Galchenyuk being not careful with the puck in the offensive end during a game where he put up 3(?) points? I mean, not sure what that has to do with Marner giving away the puck twice in his own end, but you keep that train rolling.

It’s the same story against solid teams with a good goalie. Better turn it up in the 3rd
