It has been one of our best pairings all year.

Putting Schenn over Liljegren one year after watching Lyubushkin suck game after game, and then watching Schenn do the same thing for 15 games this year, is the real problem.

I don't dislike loading up the top6.
But I really want to hit teams with a ton of depth and really don't see L3 doing that.
And wanted Liljgren in.

But we shall see. Keefe is the coach at all the practices, not me.

Holl in the line up is stupid. you already have McCabe-Brodie and Rielly-Schenn; you need a puck mover in Lily or Gustaffson. Holl is a pylon. Holl has already cost Leafs the playoff series last year ruining Game 6 and Game 7 playing like an absolute pylon; Holl doesn't know how to play D when opposition presses or move the puck. Keefe is a gutless moron

Tavares-ROR-Nylander is also stupid. Tavares should be playing on the 3rd line

Knies-ROR-Nylalnder as a 2nd line would have been better if you are going to use Matthews-Marner as a match up agasint Samkos-Point-Kucherov; Also bunting absolutely sucks defensively they should put jankrok with matthews-marner if they are using this duo as a shutdown duo

Gio - Lily IMO was better, plus no need for 2 shutdown pairings - more speed/skill is needed. Brodie's not been good recently either.

Agreed re: Schenn. But Reilly/Lily isn't how I would do it either.

You thinking Schenn sucked for 15 games is the real problem here?

It's not always about points, He's been solid and brings a very useful element that we lacked, Schenn is what Boosh should of been. Also Schenn doesn't just wrestle people to the ground when the other team gets angry or forces you to answer the bell, Schenn will try to punch your face in and lands checks to hurt you (legally) and other teams know this. They're similar type player but with 2 different intents in how they play... Schenn is someone to keep an ice on when he's on the ice and know that if you get hit by him and want to fight him, it's not likely to be a good time, where as Nobody was afraid of Boosh's "grab and hold you tight until refs break it up or you both fall" type of response. Schenn is also great at net clearing where in playoffs everyone's trying to fight to screen your goalie.

Liljegren had his opportunity to secure his spot in the line up, but for what ever reason started to make a lot of bad decisions in his play near the end of the season when intensity was turned up. He's a better player than last year but experience is a thing. He'll get a few games in for sure, but you need Schenn on the roster Game 1 to set the tone like he did with Maroon a few weeks ago, especially when teams want to bully the Leafs, he gives us a meaner look on the back end and the guy you want during scrums around the net.

IMO it should be Gio-Lilly instead of Holl but Keefe trusts Holls PK ability more

How did our development if Liljegren take a turn into making him a healthy scratch in the playoffs over a guy who couldn't crack Tampa's regular D last year?

They didn't think Lyubushkin sucked and they definitely don't think Schenn sucks, especially when they slot him in ahead of Liljegren come game 1.

Yes, I did ask for a reason, but that doesn't mean your posts don't come across as incredibly negative and whiney. Always laden with criticism, name calling etc.

You can dislike the coach and be critical of his decisions while still being constructive and pleasant in providing your own thoughts. Your posts are always just super negative and it goes back to last year even. I still remember you whining about the refs months after we got bounced.

Liljegren in if you want better transition and more offence from the Gio pairing.

Holl in if you want more D and PK.

I could see both getting playing time this series as well as Schenn sitting some nights.

Defensive depth is going to play a role in this series and the Leafs are going to be able to withstand injuries/wear and tear on their D core for once.

You can also take your own advice and ignore me if you'd like. I don't think I'm being holier than thou at all, I'm giving you feedback that you always sound negative and that it may turn people off of your otherwise fine ideas. A lot of us are excited to discuss the playoffs and all you do is whine, complain, and insult.

You whine about other posters because they don't post like how "you want to see them" and that they are are whining or negative. its absolute hypocrisy!

welcome to the internet where people speak their mind as they see fit. if you don't like it ignore it. If you gonna poke the bear you are gonna get it back with full force
