Maybe the worst period they have played this season in the first, but they followed it up with a balls out effort (and some terrible defence) for the next two!

Won't win many games playing (defence) like that, but glad they found a way to win this one... should be a confidence builder and if nothing else (and I hate to say this), teach a good lesson on sticking with it to the end.

Sidenote, we need to get Nylander more puck time on the PP. He just moves at a different pace than Marner and Matthews, which is needed.

Leafs players almost never get that. They'll bend over backwards to give McDavid and Draisaitl every point possible but it never seems to go that way for us.

They played great defence in the 2nd period and the chances TB got in the 3rd was mainly bc they were pushing to tie the game.

I know the big boys and Campbell pulled this win out, but the fourth line tonight was great and it’s a thing of beauty watching liljegren and sandin snap the puck back and forth. They both look like they’re going to be (and are already)excellent players.

They dominated the 2nd period. Leafs had 4-5 oddman rushes in that period, among a boatload of offensive zone time. Tampa Bay had no shots for like 12 minutes of that period.

If Campbell is to be praised for the 3rd period, Vasilevski should be for the 2nd period. If either goaltender is off their game, the other team wins by a landslide.

We might be seeing the play a little differently. I'm often not a huge fan of the way the Leafs set up in the offensive zone. So even when they're in there cycling and holding that puck for a lot of time as in the second and ripping off shots, it looks and feels like their spacing is off, they're not able to open a lot of seams in traffic, we're shooting into a crowd and our guys aren't in good positions to hunt rebounds. Feels like an element of the rope a dope in that respect. But a win is a win so you don't worry about that too much!

Yes Tampa got a lot of looks in the 3rd and got stoned by Campbell, but remember that the Leafs kept them to 2 shots for like 25 minutes. They were controlling early in the first though.

What a huge goal by JT and then Willy. Absolutely massive win.

I thought Brodie played his best game of the season too.

They really shutdown our forecheck all night, I certainly wasn't expecting this outcome! Campbell looked like Cujo tonight... amazing performance! JT to the rescue, and Willy 'I predicted he would have the last goal in the prediction thread!' for the finish! exciting end!

Leafs will be in a a battle with Florida, Tampa and Boston for the top 3 spot and guaranteed playoff spot. Getting a win from their main competitors is huge.

Sandin-Lilijgren looks like they'll be capable of taking Muzzin-Brodie's jobs by the 2023 playoffs at the latest.

Both look very promising.

We might need to look at dealing holl. I'd shop Holl + Mikheyev and see the best NHL player asset we can get back.

Whatever position Dubas feels could use the biggest upgrade.

Individually I would value Holl at a 2nd, and Mikheyev at a 3rd. So basically moving around 3.65 of cap space which isn't needed on the roster for an NHL quality top 9 winger who can push Engvall into the extra forwards spot.

Oh boy was I wrong, you didn’t skate hard for 50 minutes but goddamn if those last 10 didn’t have me jumping for joy. Really turned it around and made key plays, especially that pass to willy, finally used your shot to threaten for a pass

Marner wasn’t great but he had one of those games where despite everything, he still rose to the occasion and delivered. He’s bringing me back little by little.

Willy styles is willy styles, personal favourite, he was excellent for some stretches of the game and invisible for some. Showed up big with that 1 T and boy was it a bomb

Johnny Dekes…that OT pp draw might’ve been the fastest I’ve ever seen you skate, but skating for you doesn’t matter. Front of the net is all that does. 1 tap shot was golden and just what the doctor ordered

Campbell, if I talk about you I’ll reach the post limit. I’ll just say you are amazing…

loved the rookies, Liljegren shouldn’t come out over dubas’s dead body. Sandin is legit

muzzin scared me, but Brodie made up for him

Really though, I know we haven't played Boston in a while, but I'll hate Boston like as a Kid you'd pretty much always hate HHH in WWE.

Boston is the true bad guy of the NHL. The amazing dream/goal would be to beat them in the first round this year
