That kinda feels like a game we would have given up on in the past and lose. Not every game is a master piece but with this team and the individual talent, if they hang around long enough they have a better than 50/50 chance to win. Somethign is different with this team..

Auston Matthews had 4 breakaways and three? 2 on 1's usually Matthews gets a hat trick with those chances.

We played like utter trash, got dominated, but I’ll take it Hockey isn’t fair, sometimes you dominate but get unlucky+goalied, has happened to us many times, tonight it happened to the Devils

Goes without saying, but Stolie was unreal. Absolutely loving this Stolarz/Woll tandem, good-to-great goaltending virtually every night with these 2.

Honestly, good.

It still sucks you lost, but you win that game 9/10 times.

However the Leafs feel about that, I'd feel the opposite.

They played awful, Stolarz was by far our best player, and the Holmberg goal (of all players) was hilarious, but worth noting that NJ gave four breakaways to Matthews in this one. As average as his game has been, you can't give Auston Matthews four breakaways in a game if you're NJ.

Stolarz was incendiary. Holmberg's goal probably should have been a call on Dewar, but the play probably should have also been blown dead on the scramble in the crease that led to it.

As for the skaters, the following were not shit, the highest compliment I can give: OEL, Timmins, Mitch, Holmberg, JT and Dewar. That is all, even with the winner and like 6 breakaway, no good, Auston.
