This dude plays like a jackass. I thought the pearl clutchers are supposed hate this type of player.
This is the video for your first headliner of vicious cheap shot
No cheap shot at all just shoulder to shoulder

Dunn and Gabriel was around 5 years ago . The date is on the video. Gabriel cleaned up on him and Dunn got a nice one in going to their rooms

The Reaves fight was a draw

Patric turns his back on him on the drilled from behind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8ztLI484dE
Just for context i figured i would just add all them things you call him a jackass for without checking.

He just has to hit clean in the media hotbed like toronto and the junk media thats looking to twist everything. I’ll settle for no sideshow and some instigator penalties if needed nonetheless.:)

He is not da best fighter but he sticks up for his team-mates always with no exceptions .. he is a lot dirty .. kinda a little like Pronger which keeps opposing teams watching him .. Nick is same way .. at some point one of these guys will knock someone out of hockey with a dirty play .. most likely a head on glass shot from behind .. no one will like it but that's why you keep your head up and make sure you are not vulnerable .. always good to have a couple guys on your bench to keep other team honest .. they will create more penalties for and due to game management there will be even up calls for us too
Ritchie is the one that can really fight. That guy is a hammer with both hands. Keefe can throw out Ritchie /Simmonds/Gabriel and pick two defensemen from a hat and let them go wild or send the two young guys Sandin and Dermott ha.Phantom call that one refs

disapproving. to behave as if you are very shocked, especially when you show more shock than you really feel in order to show that you think something is morally bad: They clutch their pearls at the rest of the nation's obesity. Only hypocrites clutch their pearls and faint when the truth is spoken

Right! Thanks.

New stuff on Gabriel. https://thehockeywriters.com/kurtis-gabriel-fighting-to-make-maple-leafs/

He is working his skills development as a priority and currently they are working at on ice awareness/vision. That to me seems ti be a indication of defensive awareness work. Very important for him to continue developing that if he wants to get and keep a 4th line spot or 13th forward spot for sure.
You just know our teams skills priority for him means defensive structure and system and puck movement. I think it’s the perfect thing to work on coming in to a new team. Gabriel refining his game means he won’t be put in the ice to act like a runaway train he was dispatched as on other teams.
He wants this bad the way he talks. He might prove to be a good Nhl’er with Leafs. This guy is learning his role and putting in the work. Love it

not too many guys stay in that long with Reaves
Reaves elbow was smashed more than a couple times too that nobody really understands likely. To put it simple, the elbow is not supposed to bend that way ha. That hurts the elbow what he did. He better keep his chin down when he misses the uppercut though jeezus. He has some training but man he keeps his head to high. Caught Reaves with a nice elbow after a missed shot coming back to position. I liked that lol. That’s a dirty boxing tactic you will lose points for if the ref thinks you are doing it on purpose. Of course you are doing it on purpose lol. It’s crunching when you get hit with it ha.
He can handle himself but he is only thinking one shot at a time. He’s ok. Reaves is a beast. Ritchie is better. :)

I don't see a place for this guy in a 12 man forward group.

Is he worth carrying as a 13th forward if it means waiving someone like Mikheyev?

Let's not pretend otherwise. This is his 5th NHL org in 5 years. He's here to fight and have the proper organization approved stick wraps. These things are necessary when you've got a blond blue-eyed star winger who wears 88 on his back and a star center who Ace Ventura'd a female security guard. Gabriel may even be a card for Dubas to play if Dubas' job ever gets on the line during the season. I've probably already said too much.

He's barely worth carrying as a 13th forward on the Marlies. He's certainly not worth waiving anyone of value to keep on the Leafs.

Why yes, Ritchie is better

Yeah we know you don’t like him. Seen the half truths you were peddling about him in your previous post lol. Won’t be a Marlie but won’t play all the time. He can skate and bang and play defensively. The others use of him has no bearing on how we use him. I’d like him to show he can play. He’s training. We’ll see.

I completely agree. Some in this thread, though, seem to be talking like Gabriel's going to be playing every game and change the team identity.
I would then refer them to review the 8 minutes a night Matt Martin played for us and wouldn't even take on a guy that turtles like Rinaldo after Brown got smoked away from the puck.

Dubas job is already on the line.

Nick is so much stronger then virtually everyone in league except Chara who has hands like stone .. now there is a guy Chara who would actually help us although not sure with Bruin loyalty it could ever work here .. imagine Nick and Chara OMG 2 strongest men in league on our team .. then add in Gabriel to run around and rat out other teams
