Bayern's attack is a lot more dangerous with any other combination of midfielders...Goretzka even having a resurgence after seemingly being kicked out the door. Kimmich wants too much of the ball and just slows the attack down far too much. Too many touches, too long on the ball, too many backwards and sideways passes. The possession numbers look great but the defense has all day to set-up.Bayern decided to unilaterally end contract negotiations with Kimmich, who's not starting tonight away at Stuttgart. Bayern to be fair is suffering a lot in midfield without him, possession is 50/50 and Stuttgart are 1-0 up.
When Pep appoints you as the man and some treat you like the next iteration of Schweinsteiger, it's probably a tough thing to let go of, even for unegotistical types.Like I get not wanting to run as much and wanting to be more involved in build-up play, but it's wild to me that Kimmich hasn't just moved back to RB for club as well as country.
