Considering we have traded our 2nd and 3rd round draft picks in the upcoming draft, would you consider Quillan 3rd round value thus replacing our 3rd round pick?

I also saw Mayer play the other day and he's pretty solid. Big guy that plays physical but needs to work on his skating. I'd say he's got ELC potential. Could be sneaky and get him on an AHL contract for a year or two.

L'Orignal is about 30 minutes away from me towards Montreal ...

I am glad that they got Quillan as we really need more prospects at center and defence positions. With Caden Webber more or less signed, if we could get Samuel Mayer, than that would top off a dream CHL/NCAA UFA season. With only 3 picks in the 2025 draft, we really need to be aggressive with these types of signings.

I didn't list a D in that pile I posted earlier in the UFA thread, but signing one would be nice.

here is Pronman's write up on Quilan from a couple of weeks ago.

"He’s a strong skating center with good puck skills who can create offense with pace. His hockey sense is fine, good enough, to go with a strong compete level and ability to play both ways. At 6-0 without dynamic enough puck play, whether there’s enough to his game to be a real player is debatable, but he could be a very useful depth piece for an NHL organization."

Thanks for the link

Have not been following NCAA much

I Don't remember how high profile a signing Trevor Moore was?

is his potential higher than Moore when we signed him?

It was actually Trevor Moore

We brought him from NCAA, developed him in the AHL and he played start of his career here

Had to move him as we needed a goalie back in 2019/2020

Moore is a top 6 player now for the Kings
Wasn’t Bobby McMann a NCAA signing?

I’ve seen him play several times across the river at Clarkson and St Lawrence, they are in the same conference, the Bozak comparison seems pretty apt. Graf is more flashy for sure.
so negative.

so 3rd pick equivalent would be accurate?

I dunno I guess mid round has a chance to play NHL guy,,,that conference is highly structured tightly played. Hard for me to judge. I thought Colin Greening was going to be a star after seeing him a half dozen times with Cornell

Explore any and all avenues in an attempt to add to the team. Hoping that's what has been done here.

Good signing. I was hoping for him and Hughes so hopefully in 2 weeks we can get a deal done with Hughes. Marlies could look good down the middle with Quillan, Hughes and Minten possibly.

Great to see. Leafs need all the free wallets they can get.

Hopefully they can hit on some late draft picks in this draft too but this is a nice add.
