This team has collectively checked out. Nobody playing with any heart. At least Bogosian fought someone. Everyone else just plans to lay down and die.

"Heart" is not a characteristic this team has. Granted, a lack of it hasn't been the only problem tonight... but this is pretty much the last team in the League I would expect to put forth an effort that defines playing with heart.

This loss wouldn’t hurt so much if our record over the past 5 games was reflective of our play.

1st Vancouver game: Fine it’s a back to back with Hutch, lose.

2nd Vancouver: Demko stands on his head and Fredlight is useless on the PK.

1st Jets game: We dominate but quelle surprise our goaltending let’s us down again.

2nd Jets: Almost done in by goaltending again but fortunately get the extra point in OT, but hand the Jets a point as well.

3rd Jets. Wheels really start to come off. Skaters play like crap but our goaltending once again gives up a weak one to tie it and the momentum swings, but it was a deserved loss.

Sens Game: Hutchinson’s Cinderella story really is over, boys are tired and playing like shit and unmotivated, Fredlight is as useless as ever.

Leafs better get their heads out of their asses and soon come Friday, or the season is gonna go right down the shitter.

I don't think that's true at all. His final year he's 33/34, and we all expected THAT Tavares to play the way he currently is. But for it start at 30? We have players ELEVEN years older than him contributing.

If you look at the decline of guys like Bergeron and Krejci it wouldn’t have been crazy to assume that this current version of Tavares wouldn’t have reared it’s head until 33-34.

If you think this team is a contender, I'm happy for you. I personally don't - not without some key roster moves.

This 6 game stretch shouldn't be completely ignored - it counts as much as the other games, and really looks a lot like the Leafs of pervious years.
Not once did I say it doesn’t count. I said this is still the same roster that was 18-4-2 a week and a half ago. I can almost guarantee you weren’t crying for change then. How about give it another 10 days and let me know how you feel then

Of we actually hit the net we are winning this game

This is a huge problem - they need to simplify their game.

Not every goal needs to be a highlight reel dangle / pass / snipe. If they'd stop trying to pick corners and missing completely losing possession altogether with no rebound opportunities, we'd have a ton more goals.

Right. He was always a very effective player despite his skating. That's what we thought would continue for at least a few more years.
But all it takes is that slight step down in skating. I remember he worked with Underhill to improve it, but just losing a slight step was going to affect his game. He might actually be better on the wing at this point and just draw in at C for face-offs

I don’t really agree that we were done in by amazing goaltending in all of those games because you’ll recall they made Dave Rittich look like a Vezina candidate for 2 games as well. So the offense at the top of the roster had been drying up a bit and after the Edmonton series things just got a little bit loose.
