Thats a terrible way to develop home grown talent not playing him because of "bonuses". He is a pending RFA after this season including Sandin anyway. So basically leafs are giving every opportunity for sandin to have a better "bidding leverage" than Lily; that should go down well when sandin hasn't outplayed lily at all

One of them skipped bonuses so they could play quicker. I am pretty sure every ELC signed since has skipped bonuses.

If he is playing well enough to hit all his bonuses, then we WANT him on our team when we are in our make or break season.

I think we could have room for him this year if we want him to play. I don't know for sure though, but I trust our cap experts.

Our cap issues are greatly exaggerated.

Keep playing him 25-40 games a year

Sandin needs to simplify sometimes. You can’t let the book out that a defender can just muscle you off the point and out of the zone while you make fussy plays with the puck. Move off the boards and give yourself some escape routes too, since mobility and separation speed isn’t there.
