Sandin's been good overall.

Bad moments for the team out there that time due to bad forward pinch and then standing around and letting dmen beat them up the ice.

Preach and preach about being solid defensively, and then completely ignore a rock in your own end for a flashy offensive game with no idea where he should stand in his own end

if he had footspeed and good movement at least he could make up for it or a long stick/wing span. Also, Sandin's offensive game isn;t that great to begin with at least at the NHL level.

Look at Lily's outlet/breakout passes and his positioning. The guy is solid. Its a shame he isn't getting a chance to showcase his game. Leafs coaching staff should give Lily the same freedom they have afforded Sandin when it comes to mistakes and ice time. Lily's offensive game is solid too if he is given the chance to play that way

Anyway we can sign ho sang to a 2 year deal with the first being 750k 2 way and the following a 1 way. Cant remember who got a contract like that in the last couple years but im sure dubas did one

If we sign him, it should 100% be a one-way, less incentive for someone to claim him off waivers. He needs waivers on a two-way or a one-way as far as I know, it is just that he is paid his NHL salary in the AHL if it is one-way.

I really would like to take a flyer on him, he looks really skilled, and if he is willing to put the work in, it'd be nice to push Simmonds to the #13 forward spot, but this really only works if we play him on a skilled line and it is getting super crowded up front.

I've also liked Semyonov a lot and would like him to play, we really have too many forwards right now.

Because Keefe does not roll lines perfectly and will give players extra minutes up and down the lineup to make sure the stars get enough time, I wonder if we roll 4 good lines this year and spread out the talent.

I will always bring this up, Liljegren's issue is he has bonuses, I really don't think they are playing favorites with Sandin. If we play Liljegren enough for his bonuses to kick in, any overage gets carried over to the next season. Someone correct me on all this, but I swear the Leafs have said this before.

Is it getting to the point where it's going to be too late for Sandin to fix his straight line speed/explosiveness?

If he is playing well enough to hit all his bonuses, then we WANT him on our team when we are in our make or break season.

Thats a terrible way to develop home grown talent not playing him because of "bonuses". He is a pending RFA after this season including Sandin anyway. So basically leafs are giving every opportunity for sandin to have a better "bidding leverage" than Lily; that should go down well when sandin hasn't outplayed lily at all

Don't know of many d-man that improved their footspeed/pivot later on in their career. I hope sandin improves, ofcourse, but am not too optimistic as i can't seem to recall many d-men who have done that.

It feels like holl got faster

I've liked that Robertson is using his team mates more tonight and not just shooting the puck from anywhere, any chance he gets.

I've liked Semyonov's game this camp. He has speed, plays with energy, solid defensively and surprisingly has actually had a pretty good impact offensively

I think you are right. It’s a shame that the cap situation is costing them the chance to ice the best player.
I wonder how long before Lilly gets sick of this

Two guys fighting for a role looked good there. Ho Sang with a nice pass
